Our top 6 are in a scoring drought, but as a team we aren't anemic offensively.Once again
This team isn’t starving for defense. It anemic offensively. Bennett, Barkov, Chucky, and Verhaeghe have how many goals combined in the last 25 games? I don’t know, maybe because the D men you rely on for point shots are absolutely horrible at it.
And why is the guy you maybe took a flyer on for offense from the blue line is decaying in lieu for Bjornfot?
Yikes
I avoid people who instantly show disdain for a pride event. That they do every year. That affects you zero.I was told on Instagram that we are losing because of pride jerseys that was just announced today. They were serious
Honestly, watching the last few games, for the top-6 this isn’t a simple scoring drought or people missing assignments or they partied the night before.
It’s really obvious that the effort isn’t there. They’re skating slower and doing lackadaisical forecheck. Going through the motions. Their hearts are not in it.
I don’t know what it is but it’s pretty obvious. Maybe it’s exhaustion. Will Maurice do something or will they only start to pick it up either near the end of the regular season or if their playoff spot is threatened, whichever comes first?
Hope you’re right.i posted this in another thread but it's not hard to imagine that the guys playing in 4 nations are conserving energy in anticipation of that tournament. and those are the guys who make things go. i'm sure they aren't intending to undercut their teammates. maurice thinks everyone will come back sharp. i wouldn't be surprised if there was a a bit of a letdown, though.
that said, i think they'll pull it together in march, though. filipovic made the point that home ice could be with our D depth. i bet maurice knows this and will start to push them harder then. they are capable of ripping off a 5-10 game win streak to take back control and they all, including maurice, know that.
