Most of the RW fans I've encountered outside of Denver are pretty nice people who want to talk hockey and don't take themselves or the game too seriously. The ones I've encountered in the Denver Metro Area are generally the opposite.

Yeah... I've probably got some unresolved daddy issues, since my old man is a Detroit RedWings fanatic. Non-stop stories about shit that happened before he was even born. And it's not a story if it's not worth telling 1,000,000 times with each time getting embellished further and further.

My Dad loves Detroit (was born and grew up there, so I do have to give him credit for that). But he left when he was still in high school. After he had a family, he moved us to Ohio for a few years. Of course, that's a huge natural rivalry right there. Kids growing up learning to love the Buckeyes and their old man a stark, raving lunatic for everything Michigan. We still don't talk much during the college football season for some reason and I haven't watched football seriously in well over three decades.
Yep... but in my case, I still love mine... unless the Avs are playing Detroit.
