Is that supposed to be a burn on me, or the fact that the Jets have been playing a bubble team for so many weeks now that that's something I'm saying a lot? Help me out here.
Constructive feedback. If every post you make after a loss is just a profanity filled rage, game after game, people tune you out.

At least dissect something about the game.

the guy who goes long stretches without adding any offense to the team despite playing with ehlers majority of the time, yes, I will say he needs to start adding to the team, you add nothing but that stupid emoji now that you can't cry about the 1st line "clown"

Buddy Namestnikov is scoring at a worse rate and his ass is the "2C".

The 4th line is "existing" and doing not much else.

And despite the supposed "eliteness" of the 1st line Ehlers is outpacing Scheifele and Vilardi.

No one on the first line is doing anything special 5v5 except Connor and it's not even special, it's just fine. Ehlers is worse than regular. They're all kind of meh right now.

The PP has rotted your brain. This isn't the True North HQ. Sorry, there will be criticism. I know it kills you.

Still plenty of time for them to assemble a contender.

"buddy" I've started multiple times that we need a new 2c, I just have higher expectations for a former top 10 pick who everyone puts up on a pedestal then I do for someone I've stated multiple times needs to be playing lower down the line up

1st line has been good, I'm sorry that hurts you, you can try and cherry pick it all you want but they are not close to being a problem for this team

2 posts, 2 blocks, 2 hits. Some good d play and and a couple nice setups. Not sure he is the guy to pick on tonight

ok, let me recalculate, 2 + 2 +2 carry the 1, yup, still didn't put up a point, it's not just this game, he has like 4 goals in his past 33 games lol, but let me guess, it's that old dino coach boweness

Hot damn! I didn't realize it until it was mentioned above, so I took a look at last season's point totals compared to this year's after 41 games and sure enough we are 4 points behind.

60 points last year.
56 points this year.

In contrast to one of the posts above, the Jets were good in January 2024 with a record of 8 - 3 - 1.
It wasn't until the end of January/early February when we hit a slump losing 5 games in a row.

The team is 12-10 - 2 since the 15-1 start to the season which is about an 88 point pace.
Well colour me embarassed... i distinctly remembered a january losing streak last year

Cheers for that research - and reminder weve been a kickass team for 2 years now

I think Mikael Granlund would look great on the second line. I don't know if the Sharks want to move him but if they do then the Jets should be all over it, and soon. Super high hockey IQ and a great puck distributor. I'd even move Nino up and make a line of Nino-Granlund-Ehlers. I think they'd be super effective together.

They played a good second period. Asides that :dunno:
Sorry HF heinola and Perfetti just ain't it this year. Need Samberg back and a trade for the fwds.
Yeah I’ve been disappointed in Heinola. He’s been “fine” as a depth guy but fine isn’t gonna cut it. He seems to have an issue with physical players which concerns me for the playoffs when teams ramp up their physicality. I don’t think Stanley is the answer there either so we probably need to bring in a D.

By the way, did you ever get your wisdom teeth pulled? I say that not as a commentary on your hockey opinions, as I find I’ve been agreeing with you quite a bit lately, but I am asking as I am scheduled to get mine out shortly and I am concerned my dentist may turn in the same kind of effort when extracting my teeth that the Jets put in tonight, and that just won’t do for me.

"there's nothing they can prove until playoffs, so I'm just going to show up during losing streaks shout I told you so and hide during winning streaks" like what a f***ing loser mentality
What was your honest assessment of tonight's game? 8 games at home and starting 0-2.

Pedestal? He has become the whipping on here despite doing a lot good things.
He had 2 hits, 2 blocks and 2 posts tonight while playing strong d and strong on the boards.
No issue calling out not scoring more but he is still playing good hockey

For the record I don't think either heinola or stanley are it. But Stanley has been out playing Heinola as of late. I imagine they make a move at the tdl to get a vet body that can play. Once samberg is back it pushes everyone down, so keep that in mind.

No. My mouth apparently is big enough to keep them in there.

Yes you want more points but there is more to the game than just points. He is doing a lot great things that teams need. He now has 12 posts this year, that is absurdly unlucky.

if you play in the top 6 you need to bring some sort of offense... I'm not sure if cole perfetti body checking is intimidating enough to off set that...

Yeah you do have a big mouth on these boards :sarcasm:

Thank God Samberg seems to have hit on his potential. Hopefully he’s back soon

Perfetti should be contributing a lot more to this team with all his opportunities. Really disappointed in him.
I remember when there was discussion around his new contract and there were some very big numbers being tossed around.
So for those that were part of that, I can see why they would be really disappointed (not referring to you btw).
But in the end, you'd think his shortfalls wouldn't be that hard to recognize - he's small and slow.
And if you are both of those in this league, you will have a tough time most nights.

He's also young and has some time to grow and learn.
But I'd get him off the wing because he is can't get anything going when playing up and down the ice between the hash marks - they ride him off into the walls on most plays. Give him another shot at C and see if he can use his strengths (playmaking) in support of the other two.
That's asking a lot from the kid but IMO, he's better suited for that role over the one he has now.
I'd at least try it again and go from there - can't be any less productive.

Anyway, tough game - some back luck and a slow start - and a redwing team that is now on a misison - they are playing better than their record.

Who's putting him on a pedestal anymore than any player on this team? It's just you bitter org. freaks who cry and hit back when anyone criticizes how they develop young players. All anyone talks about is Vilardi's year and the guy has 5 more goals 5v5. That's the difference between them this year. He's shooting 16% Perfetti is shooting 6%.

But we need to do what LA did and throw him in for a trade because he'll shoot 6% for the rest of his career and we need a *BIG BODY* despite Ehlers leaving at the end of this year.

The 1st line has been good. Not elite, but good. So the Jets need to either change up their other 3 lines or trade for players to make those lines better, because a "good" 1st line doesn't win a playoff series when it's the best line you have currently amongst mediocrity.

Good thing they didn't trade him while he was being benched to give Logan a few more looks huh 🤔

But, yeah, I was (and am) annoyed at losing Kovacevic and Chisholm.
