If they ask the questions that need asking, they probably lose access.
Don't think so. It doesn't need to be "Hey Mika do you think you play good enough as your contract suggests", but that would be the silly thing they'd ask if it was free reign for them. Not some smart thing.

The Rangers are not playing well at the moment but if you want to know what long rebuild looks like here’s another example. If they miss playoffs again this season it will be 8 years since 2015-2016 season when they last lost to TBL in the first round

Can we play the wings 83 more times?
I was thinking and feeling confident that we would beat them in the Finals. Thing is, will WE make it there? Okay, my joke of the day.

Seriously, when I think of Detroit, I think of Buffalo. We've been hearing and seeing for years "all the young talent" they possess. 2 maybe 3 years later, one would EXPECT they become formidable as they grow up. Detroit kind of did what Buffalo really did to us. When all is said and done, we will be in the PO's, will they?
Cannot overlook Lindy Ruff and what he has done with Buffalo "thus far".

Defense first, say what? With all that speed and potential offense? But what, defense 1st? Wow, what a revelation. Makes me think of Laffy in a way. He'll be a much better all around player (Like Mika became) by NOT always thinking offense. Will Buffalo continue to improve OR will Lindy eventually become tiresome? IDK, but looks good so far, I suppose they wanted a good showing for Ruff AGAINST his former team.
They play like that the majority of the time, PO's will be a foregone conclusion.

The Atlantic is a crapshoot. guaranteed Panthers and Toronto. Montreal guaranteed the bottom. Every other team has a legit chance to overcome the Bruins and TB as regular PO teams.

2 people did not vote for Quick? :D
Oops, forgot to. Haven't been voting as it seems there aren't any players to vote for. But yeah, Quickie for sure, then I have to think LONG and HARD for players that had a good game, but NOT just adding them because they scored. I mean, does anyone think Panarin, Kreider and Vesey had really good games? Thought Smith and Carrick did. So, maybe them. Maybe my "go to".......Trocheck. That's my main man.

Fun fact. 13 players were a +1, and Fox the only +2. On a night they probably should have been minuses.
Also, no wonder they are called the Red Wings, because they can fly. Thing is they obviously DON'T hit anyone, we outhit them 25-5! Only 5? Wow, freaking wow.

Next time just say Quick was at the bottom so you did not see him lol. :D

I don't understand how shoe-horning our 8th best defenseman on the top pair for another season, isn't working out. He even has extra protection with that giant visor he has to wear, since he is recovering from a broken jaw.

It's a mystery to me why the team has completely fallen out of step; I don't get it.

Hockey loyalty.

If I had a positive to note it’s that Jones is on his way to be a regular and getting PP2 time.
Also happy to see Cuylle back with Chytil and Kakko (btw those who pigeonholed Cuylle as a bottom line forward - even “nothing more than a good 4th liner” - based on how he ran out of gas in the 2nd half of his rookie year, the joke is on you for not allowing AGAIN for more development. When he is 25 - 26 yo he’s going to be a bona fide top-6 power forward.
Lastly I know that the team doesn’t look cohesive on the defensive side… at the moment. But I also remember that they’ve played much better as a group last season so I’m willing to wait to see them work it out. Zibanejad is a scapegoat #1 (pretty deservingly) among forwards but Trocheck hasn’t been that much better either so far. Shesterkin and Quick help the team accrue points in meantime and hopefully if they slowdown at some point - the skaters will be able to get their shit together by then and return the favor. This is our year!
