Windsor Spitfires 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part V

Just a quick question. I just checked the website for tickets for tonight and there seems to be a lot left? Is this typical do you guys get a lot of walk ups? Just seems strange with it being a game 7

The east end has the most seats left, which is pretty typical unless it's sold out. The sides and west end are scattered doubles and triples, which is normal, too. I'd guess 5,500-5,800, maybe pushing 6k if you get more this afternoon.

The building has been at about 80-90% % capacity in most playoff games. It's a Tuesday, so maybe a bit less today. Windsor does not have a huge corporate ticket base, rely on walk ups, mostly on families attending these games, but it's obviously harder to attract families to attend on a Tuesday night. Also, hard to get group sales with such short notice.

I've always said they need to make those seats in the sections that go up 28 rows of seats cheaper.

Tonight the Spits have to come out flying. Get the 1st goal and that makes Kitchener open up more and allow the Spits more freedom in the offence zone.Hopefully they can get Spellacy back tonight and his speed would be a great help.

For the boys I’d love it sold out. For the sake of the narrow concourse and parking, I personally don’t mind a few hundred open seats 😂

Anyone else nervous? I’m hopeful to get Spellacy and maybe Lemieux back, with Davis and Greentree staying in… but after losing 3 in a row, I don’t feel great

I'm extremely nervous but, at the same time, I'm happy it's at home and not on the road. I've done too many of those "we could be done" scenarios and then, when it ends, it's just... "okay, now what?" If they win, utter fantastic. If they lose, at least we can soak it in a final time. I won't be happy in that case, despite all that's happened, but at least I'm in the right spot for it.

5500 probably tops.
Nice weather.
Nhl playoffs.
Money issue.
Multiple reasons why tickets r left

Would be a smart pr move.
A lot smarter than the ideas they have come up with lately..

Agree, the Spits do a terrible job of marketing this team.
As someone with a marketing background… it could definitely be better. But as a Whalers fan, who’s office would give me a stack of 100 vouchers to try and get my high school to try and fill some seats for weekday playoff games… Could be worse than the 5,500 sold tonight lol

Confident heading into this one on home ice. We know the squad has struggled on the road the entire season. On home ice, they are dominant.

Kitchener shots on goal in Windsor in this series: game 1: 19 shots, game 2: 19 shots, game 5: 20 shots (one on the empty net) Spits had eight regulars out in that game.

The Spits will generate offense at home. Expecting Spellacy back, hopefully his speed can cause problems and it just gives us another threatening line. We need Greentree and Protas to show up for this one. Interesting, Walters called the team out after game 6 which he hasn't really done all season. That was just a pathetic display in the offensive zone.

If they can hold Kitchener to 20 or so shots, they win. The key is scoring first. If Kitchener scores first, the pressure is on. But if the Spits score first, the momentum Kitchener has is completely evaporated.

I hate putting so much pressure on the first goal… but it’s there. Gotta get on Parsons early, and I’ll feel good. He continues the scoreless streak into the second period, I start to worry

Come on boys .........Go Spits Go !!

Hopefully we do what Florida did in the NHL playoffs last year and finally get the job done in this series clinching game 7. Been rough and disappointing to watch these last 3 games with a tale of two stories during this series. Alot of bad luck for the spitfires leading to momentum for the Rangers and now we are here at game 7 with both teams seasons on the line, the first time for the spitfires this season. Let's see what were all about, time to leave it all out on the Ice and play desperate hockey.

Not sure on any returns from injuries but at this point I'm sure there's a few players playing banged up, we just gotta hope for a complete team effort regardless of the line up on the ice and hope for a little bit of luck too and if Joey has a great game tonight that would help.

Happy with the season, exceeding my expectations at the begining of the year but still wanting more!!

Go Spits Go.

Heard from a couple sources Spellacy’s a go. Also heard Lemieux is a Game Time Decision.

I really don't think Parsons has been all that great, the last three games we really stunk it up. The first three when we played our game he looked just average. Our lack of performance has just made him look good.

Game on. Hicks makes up for an I'll advised pinch. Good on the kid.
Edit....was he playing F in the 1st? Loosely watching but it seemed 12 was left to defend on the ranger goal in 1st.
Either way kid is a gamer.
