Nasty spear by Carlisle on Protas who is still down and injured, no penalty. Protas is straight to the room does not look good. Dude needs to be suspended the rest of the series. The spear was after the whistle. Insane, he does not even get a penalty.
I don’t disagree, but the same can be said for Woodall…

Right now, I don't care who scores for Windsor, as long as somebody does. Protas/Morneau/Greentree doing it? Great. Literally anyone else doing it? Great. Wins are (generally) more important than who does what.
Most times it's just the 3..

Woodall is think didn't get a penalty with that chop either..

4-1 win. Protas 2g, Morneau 2g, Costanzo with an impressive outing. They're not all going to be pretty as the Soo is a very physical, defensive club, but take the win. Game 5 on Friday. Let's not have to go back to the Soo.
Feeling good heading home for the next one.
7-2 and 7-1 at home, 2-3 OT Loss, 4-1 Win on the road.
Goals
At Home 14-3
On Road 6-4

Not to mention the Spits impressive regular season record at the WFCU

Hope Spellacy is back just to get us rotating 3 true lines again. Greentree looked exhausted from the first period on.

Protas/Greentree/Morneau
Davis/Spellacy/Garden
Nesbitt/Abraham/McNamara

Not sure if McNamara was still feeling it, or Walters just didn’t like the options with him on the jumbled lines, but from my TV seemed like Gaymes had significantly more ice.

To his credit, he’s been playing well defensively and staying away from any messes. Not afraid to say a word here and there but staying out of the box.

Pretty tight good old school victory!! Nice to see Protas pop a couple. Joey playing well. Morneau continues to be a stud. Exactly the definition of a overlooked OA rising to supremacy. Refs are, well OHL refs lol. Playoffs normally things slide a bit, but boy, big obvious calls let go both ways. With are current short bench we need to refrain from any majors. Game 5, let's get it done and earn some well needed rest. GO SPITS!

Great to go up 3-1 in the series. The defensive play and goaltending were outstanding. Kennedy has been up against Martin a ton and has done a great job as Martin only has two points.

Protas Tracker: 34 points in his past 11 games.

Cristoforo was wearing a yellow jersey in practice? Chances of him playing in game five are slim then.

What about Spellacy, anything? That one is odd as there was no play where he was visibly injured. . McNamara played, but he only had a few shifts, so he was obviously still somewhat injured.

It’s playoffs, you want your guys playing. But…

We won with the team tonight on the road. You match the same teams up on home ice, with Walters picks of matchups… If they’re a little banged up, do you give em Game 5 off too?

I imagine if the Spitfires make Round 2, we’re looking at April 10th as Game 1.

You give those guys a Game 5 off, and we’re successful, they’re off 12 full days before Game 1. Which at 16-20 is often enough time to recover from some bumps and bruises.

But, you risk them sitting, lose, go to the Soo… 🤷🏻‍♂️ anything can happen.

I do think the odds heavily sway, when we know Soos putting out a third line and we can match up our bottom 6. Protas and Tree gotta be feeling it, they were out there so much tonight, but you also don’t want them to prey on a 3rd/4th line if we get caught deep.

Love the line combos

Great win by a beat up, depleted and tired Windsor Club. They found a way to win , very impressive. Joey seems to be catching his mid season groove he had going on. Kid is a great tender when he focuses !

If he gets hot and we get some troops healthy it will be a nice run in the playoffs, as this team can beat anyone if they play a full 60.

Hopefully we can finish the series Friday, get some rest and maybe some boys back in the lineup.

Go Spits Go !

Windsor with a commanding lead on series now.
Coming back home where they play very well.
3 players got most the points again like usual.
Joey played well.
Big swing is when lalonde went down.
Soo couldn't recover.
Why Windsor continues to play completely different from home to away games.
Coaching should get a hold of that.
Windsor should finish this on Friday.

Soo's game plan seems to be a tight checking defensive game and stay in a close game. The Spits scored 2 goals early in both games in Windsor and Soo had to open up. They can't win in a track meet against the Spits. I see that as the big difference.

There goalie goalie down was a difference too

Nice bounce back win last night at the Soo for Windsor to take a commanding lead in the series.
No time to let up the gas pedal with 1 win needed to move on to the next round,Protas, Morneau and Greentree line now with 30 points combined ,11,9,10 respectively more then the rest of the Windsor team skaters combined Spits have outscored the Hounds 20-7 in the series,Costanzo averaging 1.70 with pretty good considering 2 of Windsor's D out for the last 2 games and 1 of them all 4 so far plus other injuries 5 throughout the series.
Nice to get a road win where they have struggled after last night now 2-6-2-1 in their last 11 on the road.
However at home in their last 12,10 regular season games and 2 playoff games Windsor is a perfect 12-0,and haven't lost a home game since Feb 5.
With game 5 coming up Friday let's keep that streak going end the series, taking for granted and move on.
Expecting Spellacy back in the lineup Friday, anyone else good question.
Only players disappointed in production wise is Abraham and Davis both only have 1 point, and both are pointless since game 1.
Costanzo continues his mastery over the Hounds this season combined regular season and playoff record of 6-2-1and a goals against average of under 1.
Hope he keeps it up on Friday night.
Go Spits Go.

Davis has scored 3 but 2 were disallowed, so the effort is there.

I know Fridays a weird night at the WFCU, and they’re up against the Wings, following opening day on this side of the border, but I’m a little surprised how many seats are still open tonight.

Been eyeing it and looks like more opened up this morning. Are these from STH not buying their seats?

Should be a good one, hoping that we can wrap this up at home. Having the last change is big, and winning with our lineup and only losing in OT on the road has me Optimistic, even if no one returns.

If you rest Christoforo and Spellacy tonight even if they’re ready, they’re looking at a full 11 days of rest from Game 2 to Game 1.

Do we have any word on Lemieux? I feel I never heard what his injury was. Not going to sway a series, but he’s a suitable depth piece IMO, that’s more trusted than Stewart/Brockelhurst at this point.

I think whoever is ready to play should play. These guys are in great shape and don't need to get rusty. Be nice to roll 4 lines steady all night.

Opening Day likely playing a factor. I know fans who are going over there and hoping to get back in time for the Spits.
