I may be a bit old school but I'm not a fan of these" silly ". Jerseys. Especially when you put that ugly green in them. Maybe look better live but I had a hard time seeing the names on them. There have been some nice variations over the years but that was not one of them. I guess they do these for the little kids to like but I don't see them as anything more than a distraction to the actual game going on.

I had pointed out that I'm also not a fan of line juggling this late in the year and Walter's went with some new looks to start the game but once the wheels started to fall off he went back to some more " normal " lines. What's the point to try something new if your only going to switch back later in the game anyway?
Stop the line juggling up front and start teaching them how to assist in the D zone. Still tinkering with lines up front is not what this team needs. This team can score goals. They need/must learn to defend if they have any hope of winning in the playoffs. Rant over. Be safe.

Windsor squeeked out a win.
Really shouldn't have to say that with a 5 to 0 lead but they did.
Defense was average
Goaltending needs to be better.
Usual players got points.
Team can't move in standings. Need to play a lot smarter.

Ok the jerseys were the ugliest ive seen.
Team has an excellent goalie coach, and joeys getting every chance but hes not succeeding, something needs to give here. He should be mad, at himself! If this continues he doesnt deserve a spot next year! His glove is weak and his lateral movement is terrible, he often ends up on his ass, which puts him out of position.

That formula won't work in the playoffs. The 50 goal watch is on for Protas and Greentree. I forget Protas missed 3 more games than Greentree. Hope they both get it soon so we can "try" and tighten up for the real season coming soon. Oc course goaltending is an issue more than the D currently.
It's getting a little late. I would say the 3rd period was better but they were still undisciplined the penalty by Kennedy and especially with what happened in regards to Spellacy. I am still a little surprised they get dragged into this stuff. The game is really secondary when the standings position are pretty defined. Take the higher road, don't get dragged into something that may cause a suspension or even injury.

I didn't mind them up close but I'm neutral on the idea, otherwise. I agree that they have too many. There are likely reasons why, such as that CHL Kids contest (which will be worn on Thursday), but I'm hoping that they focus on really special occasions, or just the retro jerseys, next season.

What did he do? Justified?

He got hit along the end boards pretty hard by Daviault. It didn't look like a bad hit, but it was awkward and heavy. He got up, pushes Daviault. The Otter to their right, McCall, pushes Spellacy, who drops and starts throwing rights. McCall didn't drop his gloves and just covered up while standing up. Officials jumped in real fast. Spellacy got 5/GM while someone else got 2 for roughing and a 10.

In the past, if one has a major and the other doesn't, it was "bullying" and a 5-game suspension. Spellacy's was ruled "Aggressor" under 46.2, which means he continued to throw punches when the opponent was defenceless or unwilling. I said after that bullying got 5 games in the past so I say 2 games is lucky.

As OHLTG said, 40 footers need to be stopped. The team and D has tried to tighten up on good scoring chances but you cannot prevent shots the goalie at this level needs to make. Joey's dropped to 17th in save% and if you take out the games before Christmas he's at the bottom of the barrel. He's let in 23 goals in past 5 games on only 101 shots. Seems to be getting worse. Team has a allowed only 30 shots once in Joey's past 12 games. 33 against Saginaw. In fact only other game over 25 shots was last night at 28. I think London or Kitchener would also struggle to win if they were in a similar deficit in net.

Not saying Joey hasn’t played all that well lately but it wasn’t that long ago that he was the cats meow. How soon we forget. If I remember correctly this team was expected to be a middle of the pack team. Personally, I’m pleased as Punch that we’ve done so well this year and if we can get into two series I’ll be giddy. Be thankful!

Glad to hear from the great Punch. Time to dust off your crystal ball!

I've been a Costanzo hopeful for a long time, including last season, and I remain hopeful that he'll figure it out to some extent. Do I think he's as overall bad as last season? No. Do I think he's as good as he was earlier this season? No. It's probably somewhere in the middle. I said last night that "when he's on his game, he's as good as there is in the league. When he's off his game, we've seen what happens." Unfortunately, the latter is showing up more-and-more. I hope he can figure out the mental aspect of it long enough to get this team into the second or third round. He's been through thick and thin with this club and deserves success. However, after this season, it's all up in the air.

Agree on the surface the GAA is much improved. In reality that is a credit to the team play under Walters and the additions. Joey was dead last in save% last year in the league and since January 1st even worse save% than last year. He is too inconsistent too build a championship team around. Look at London, worried with a young Medelev so they go and acquire a stud in Ellicott. Most of us were right being concerned about Joey before the season started and here we are again. Imagine the scores if we were allowing 40-50 shots a game. Yikes
.

In his last five appearances: 23GA on 111 shots.

The previous five: 9G on 106 shots

Just going through his game-by-game, there's very little consistency. You could get a great outing, you could get a pull.

I'll say this - next season, if Windbiel and George aren't our goaltenders, I'll be surprised. Send OS whatever it takes and go from there.

You don’t know what Windbiel’s got eithet

No, but that's why you put him behind a starter, whether that's Costanzo (unlikely), George (maybe), or someone else.

Froggett is solid but isn't a starter if they're going for a big run. He's too green for that. Newlove has huge potential but is even more green than Froggett. I'd imagine he has impressive value to a team that's likely to rebuild. Windbiel is Bowler's pride-and-joy and has pro potential. You make a move to bring in a starter (George or someone else), and maybe include Newlove going the other way, and Windbiel becomes your backup. I mean, there's a chance Newlove is kept while Windbiel goes, but I'd be surprised given all we've seen so far.

I just looked - Newlove and Burlington are down 3-0 in their series to Milton and it hasn't been close (20-5).
