I would agree with this in November and right after the trade deadline but not 6 games before the playoffs. Set your lines and only move players out of necessity. They've done the getting acquainted part, now time to learn some cohesive lines.

Like I said, I don't like them mixing up the lines, but I understand the benefit of it. I would absolutely rather see them stick with something until the playoffs (and through them). Having the ability to move players around without creating chaos can be a good thing, though.

The funny thing is everyone but his brother have been shuffled except splitting Protas and Greentree. Currently shutdown line 1 and you win. PP aside maybe split them 5 on 5. Matthews is not with Marner, McDavid is not with Draisatl you ger the drift

Two changes that MUST happen next season is finding better options in net and a replacement for Gaymes. He is not OHL calibre. No upside with him.

So imho while i dont like mixing there are some benefits. One not mentioned is it hampers the opposition from matching lines/players. Without a stellar D you need better goaltending. Ive said this often BB has yet to show he can build a complete solid team!!! This team exudes that again!

Absolutely. Need 1 maybd 2 importd 3 OA's although Kennedy may or may not return. McNamara a possibility but they need to put him in tough role and minutes to see if he's worthy of a OA spot, we have great young goaltending but unproven.its gojnv to cost lots of picks to just roster those desperately needed spots for a "run" next year.

I mean, we talk about the potential issues on D, but they're top-3 (or maybe top 4 now) in the league in GA. That's with inconsistent goaltending. I'm not saying they can't improve but, man, if you told us "you'll be top 5 next season", I don't think many would have believed. Some credit is there.

Things get tougher in playoffs.
Need defense stop pinching, clear out front of net.
Need to be physical

Ya they never kept Sobolev so I doubt Eichler is a candidate

I typically agree but, we are second place. Maybe some of the shakeup is just to figure out what works when suspensions/injuries happen.

I’m going
Protas/Greentree/Abraham
Morneau/Abraham/Belchetz
Spellacy/Nesbitt/Davis
Garden/Lemieux/McNamara
Gaymes on the outside, and when things get hot. No fight count in playoffs!

Kennedy/Christoforo
Woodall/Walton
Eichler/Hicks

With the 4th line slotting up when guys don’t perform. Winegard as a put in when and where he’s needed. He’s a bottom pair D, 4th line forward at best, but his size may be valuable come playoff time.

If this team amps up the physicality, and starts to hit, I think the sky is the limit, even with the goaltending questions. Our size could wear anyone down in a 7 game series.
I’m not saying we need the big momentum swinging hits, but if we’re bumping guys all night long, ideally teams will be feeling by the time we head to their rink for the first two rounds.

Sure Costanzo’s been shaky, but for some reason, I still feel more confident in him than the Medina/Onuska situation, or with literally any goalie we’ve rostered since Mikey. I will note, I thought aside from the 5th goal, Froggett looked solid. He is known to give up an early one tho, that scares me for playoffs.

3 Years Ago was our only series win since 2011. Sure, I do “believe”, and I’m optimistic and hoping for the best. But eyeing recent success, yeah, just seeing Kitchener I chalk up as a win.

I mean, sure. But I think upgrading our 13th Forward is much lower on the priorities list than finding scoring to replace Protas,Morneau and Abraham

Big up front but not on D. Even the big D cant seem to handle clearing the slot. Top 5 in reg season is nice sure but come the playoffs…..???? Usually more than a few OS’s available for cheap in the fall. If Protus comes back BB either must provide an ohl finals team or be let go.
