I don’t expect Newlove or Windbiel to get a deeper look this year, but I wish they would.
I wasn’t quick to pull the trigger on the “needs a change of scenery” for Joey playing below what we had seen, on a disaster of a team last season (lack of scoring, atrocious defense, coaching staff replaced). The bounce back this year, assured me it was all those factors. Then post Christmas, it’s got me second guessing everything.
There’s plenty of reasons to be frustrated when giving up a goal. I was a bit closer than I sit normally in Kingston, and man, some of those minus guys seemed visibly frustrated when getting back to the bench. It’s almost as if they’re losing faith too.
Scary place to be as a second seed. I think most of us have realistic expectations, with high hopes.
If these guys want to win, they got a tough road ahead. It’s going to require a lot of blocked shots, and a lot of physical hockey.
We have the size to wear down the best teams in a 7 game series. If we play this, let’s overpass the puck thing, the only successful line will be Greentree/Protas.
Remember when our power play felt successful and we were scoring in the first 30 seconds? Now it seems even if we win the draw we’re not releasing a shot in the first 30 seconds.
I don’t think we’re “doomed” BUT post deadline, I prefer our team on paper. But pre-Christmas, the team seemed to feel more effective on the ice.
