Windsor Spitfires 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

Spits played a decent game, almost doubled them in shots. Only gave up 21 shots. I do not blame the goaltending for this defeat, but we rarely get big saves. The goaltending is mediocre.

Spits will have no problem winning the first round, but the 2nd round will be difficult due to goaltending. Good news is we would have home ice in the 2nd round. Yeah, as you can see, I'm ready for the playoffs.

4 goals on 21 shots is a 750 save percentage. That doesn't cut it at any level especially heading into the playoffs. 2 of those were " should have had it" goals and the other 2 were " nobody is stopping that" goals. Now is Froggett any better? I'm not convinced of that either so again this year Spits head into the playoffs needing to score 5 or more goals a game for them to win. Not a recipe for success.

Other than that they played well. Puck luck was their enemy and if any of those pucks in front of the Kingston net would've bounced the Spits way might have been different outcome but they didn't so here we are.

Kingston is a good team and they seem to have well structured game. Maybe Kingston will finally surprise some teams in the playoffs?

Rematch this Thursday. Should be a good game. Be safe.

Kingston looked very good at home,last night was their 14th in a row win at home,while Windsor is 24-4-1 at home so far this year,49 points,Kingston 48 points at home though they have played 2 more home games then Windsor.
No problem with the Windsor effort last night,despite playing a team rested as Windsor played and traveled the night before Kingston did neither not an excuse but a factor.
Nice to see McNamara respond to his 2 game benching,getting 2 goals 1st points in 11.
Expect to see Froggett start tomorrow vs Ottawa tomorrow afternoon and Jack Nesbitt returning after his 2 game suspension .

As usual, shut the top line down and the scoring almost fizzled. Too many passengers..
Defense too many pinching also.

Never said the league was out for Windsor. You’re asserting a premise that was not stated or implied. It’s obvious it was ruled a suspension. I was responding to your comment that is was deserved. It was not and any rational observer could conclude such. You concluded otherwise and now change the conversation. Moving on.

Joey is a servicable goalie, but I don't see him as capable of winning the league title. An upgrade in goal will be needed for next year.

Have felt this way since last year despite his early season form. Feelings have been crystallized over the last half of the season.
