Ahokas should be in the talk for coach of the year. Traded Rehkopf, Brustewicz goes pro, Sop ages out. They lose Sale Mesar as well.

I go with Jussi as a nominee in the West. No idea in the East.
He got that group to buy in and achieve after trading a top F early and little expectations entering the season. Yes they did get help with some freebies coming over ( Pridham etal ) but the buy in and results were there previous.

Windsor has had an impressive turnaround for sure but it's Aldo a result of underachieving last year with thectalent they had.

That's always been an internal debate for me. Should the top team be the favourites, no matter what? Hunter is outstanding and full credit for what he's done to that program. However, if a coach brings Windsor from second last in the OHL to within stone's throw from the conference title, within a season, that has to be the frontrunner. Otherwise, wouldn't Dale just win it as long as the team is winning games?

Dale doesn't win it as long as the team is winning lol. Rarely has happened.
Who votes for coach of the year TG?
How many times has Dale won it? And when was the time? It's been almost 15 years lol. Thought media would know that.
I'd love to hear the argument he wasn't leading the best coaching staff with the teams success in multi scenarios in any single year over a decade and a half lol, winning alot and consistently over a 15 yr period.
Yes Spits turned it around in big way but also in part because of the Sh×× show last year where they were underachieving with a poor coaching staff and team environment.

Looking fir brownie points n access?

Side note today. Have to give props to Lardis. Another hattrick now 63 goals with 10 games left needs only 3 to be top 10 all time. Quite remarkable today's game style. No one has hit over 70 since the 80's except Lindros 71 and Tavares 72 17 yrs ago.

The thing is he isn't making those saves he shouldn't have made. Sounds like double talk but great goalies make saves that on the surface they can't be blamed for either. That's where Joey is lacking recently. 3 goals in 25 shots is still only a 88 save% where benchmark is 90 or better.

Some thoughts...

- First, the Wolverine jerseys were slick. I'm not a huge fan of yellow but they made it work. The slashes were a nice touch.
- Gervais scoring 33s in wasn't exactly ideal... or great. Point shot gets tipped in front.
- How in the heck was Protas allowed to be all alone in front on the next PP? My goodness. That said, his 40th sets the Spits all-time single-season record for Import goals, beating Tom Kuhnhackl's 39 in 2010-11, I believe. Congrats, Protas!!
- The Nesbitt SHG was... odd. Was Oke thinking his team touched the puck? He paid zero attention to Nesbitt tucking it in.
- Misa doing Misa things. You can't leave him alone that close to the net.
- Protas' second... I've been saying for a while now that, while he's not a great skater, you give him any space and he buries it. Perfect example. Little bit of room and snaps it home.
- Mathurin's goal was such a strange, but well-timed goal. The play at the Wsr blue line, staying on side coming back, Greentree's sick going stupid, then the pass to Mathurin... take it.
- Nesbitt scoring right after was a huge boost and a big knock to the Spirit.
- Abraham's PP goal was spin-and-fire, but you do what you need. What... four points on the night for Abe, plus a fight? Mmhmmm.
- The third Spirit goal shouldn't have happened. Costanzo down to make the save, but stays down, and they put it under him as he's nearly sitting on the ice.
- The top line had... 12 points? Something like that. Abe with 5/5/10 in his last three games? Keep it going.
- 3/7 on the PP is impressive. I'd have to look up the last time they had 3+ PPGs.
- Abe with a fight... nice square-off at center. Harmer got the better of him in the wrestling match and I believe it gives him three tilts on the season. But, it was neat to see.
- Nesbitt in a fight, too, but not much doing there.
- Guo tossed for slewfooting Greentree. I saw it but, when they didn't say anything, I thought "maybe not?"... so that'll be two games for him.

The lead is now 17 points with 11 games remaining each. The most Saginaw can get is 88 points. Windsor currently at 83. So, they need three wins or six points, somehow (not counting tiebreakers). Starts on Thurs in Ptbo.

A great win. Saginaw can score but the defensive play is weak. Spits went went 1-1-1 on the weekend. Should have won all three games in reality.

Need to see more consistency from the goaltending the rest of the season.

The boys bring their best game against the good teams. 2-0-1 against Kitchener this season and 2-2 against London. 4-2-1 against Saginaw. 2-0 against Brantford who is 1st in the East.

Standings are interesting from 6-10th in the conference. We could be playing either Flint, Sarnia, O S or the SOO. Crazy thing is Sarnia could end up missing the playoffs.

Looked on the Windsor website this morning and nothing mentioned about Protas breaking the import scoring record? I find that a little disappointing that they did not mention it.

Way closer to a complete game, Joey still way to inconsistent at this point in season. The D is what it is. Good bounce back and they really frustrated saggy. That team has a dirty streak almost as bad as london! Guo liable to face more, hes been suspended a few times. Still have some guys making head scratching plays, time to clean that up.

Re Costanzo agree last 2 starts including yesterday inconsistent though u failed to mention previous 4 starts only allowed 8 goals total and that's including a 3-2 OT loss at Saginaw.
Much better effort most players yesterday special teams much better 3-7 on the PP,4-5 on the PK,outscored the highest scoring team in the O by 4 .
We can talk about effort however as I write this Windsor has 3rd most goals in the league,3rd least goals in the league,3 rd most points in the league,2nd in their conference, 2-2 against best team London this year, far more positives then negatives re this team this year so far.
Protas on fire 14 points last 4 games, Abraham 10 points in 3,Greentree 7 in 2.
Spits now 5-1-2 in their last 8,have improved special teams overall, now 6th on the PP,5th on the PK.
Next 3 games out East on the road.
