Windsor Spitfires 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

I had 6 seats for 15 years, down to 2 for 8 years now that the kids have moved on. So what. It’s transactional. Worth it, buy it. Not worth it or can’t afford it then don’t. Just don’t complain about it. It senseless.

Raise eyebrows, ok to what end or conclusion? Because it makes you feel better? Get annoyed for what? It’s a simple thing, answer two questions? Can you afford it? Is it worth the price of admission? Answer no to either and don’t renew. The whole exercise of complaining or venting about pricing is just weak.
I love proverbs whether it's good or bad everything is temporary this to shall pass. No different than politics. "This guy is terrible I will never vote for him" 18 months later they vote for him. Short memories it's just temporary.

Ok, keep whining just to hear yourself whine. Nobody wants to listen to people complain. Many do it anyway. All I’m saying is it’s pointless and a weak emotion to succumb to. Be stronger, accept realities you can’t change and act based on your ability to and willingness to pay. It’s a simple concept. Whiners always whine and get nowhere by whining.
I just don't understand why it bothers you so much. And I know it's hard to convey tone through text, so understand that I mean that ultra respectfully.

A couple people (including myself) were having a discussion about it. Not unlike anything you'd see after a game finishes up. Is it complaining or whining when we say we're upset after a loss? Because we certainly can't change that reality. I'm sure you've succumbed to that feeling in your time on here.

I guess I just don't get why discussing a matter directly related to the Spits is so easily dismissed as whining when the whole thing probably would have been done by now if you hadn't been so upset by it.

Hold up, you guys got free playoff tickets with your season seats?? 🤯
I'm not a season ticket holder any more but yes we use to get the first round and reduced ticket prices for any remaining rounds ( didn't get to use those much) . Price always went up for additional rounds but was less then walk up prices. Have not been a season ticket holder for quite a while.

Your not alone Icedogs season tickets up also for next season by an average of 68.00 not including GST they have an early bird special till March21 I believe that covers the tax and the full increase

Consider value for your dollar, compare other entertainment ticket prices, and you should feel a little better.

1 Lion playoff ticket more than 1 Spitfire season ticket !

Heck, taking in four Leafs games in the nosebleeds were the same price. I've gone to a Leafs' home game almost annually since 2016 but it's hard to justify $150 for a ticket in the top rows. I stopped last season and did a Spits' trip instead. Same cost overall but meant far, far more to me. That'll continue from here on out.

As for the Spits' playoff prices... is my brain playing tricks on me because I swear I remember them freezing playoff prices one season for STH? You got the first round free, then $X for rounds 2-4, and it never increased. Or not?

I had season tickets from 2007 until 2013 and I'm pretty sure they went up each round.

I think that is correct. It may have only been one season though, and I can't remember which. I'm thinking sometime post-COVID. I believe this year's prices are frozen as well.

I'm talking the last handful of seasons, like after the Memorial Cup hosting.

Okay, so I'm not completely crazy LOL it popped into my head as a "wait, why do I remember this??"

A solid win against a roster that is stacked on paper, no idea how that squad doesn't win games. They should be atop the Eastern Conference.

Belchetz didn't get a point but I thought he had one of his better games, had a few great chances and made a ton of big hits. His speed appears to be improving.

Solid goaltending by Froggett , was calm in the net. McNamara is solid on the 3rd line, he's big and can hit and skate.

I think it's safe to say Protas is back to 100%. Elite vision and a great scorer, whether it's deking or his accurate shot. One of the nicest goals of the season, shorthanded.

3 years ago it was Cuylle and Johnston, this year it's Greentree and Protas, which is more dangerous? Johnston and Protas are playing at the same pts/game pace.
It’s odd, but kind of similar. Johnston was good but I feel he took off more than expected. Cuylle was one that added a lot to the game but there were times it felt he wasn’t all that noticable/overshadowed by Wyatt.

It’s strange because I feel similarly to a Greentree/Cuylle and Protas/Johnston.

Without looking I feel Greentrees got better stats than Cuylle and it seems Protas has more size and strength than Johnston.

Hope Davis is back soon, he looked great in that Sarnia game. It was that game when I said, it looks like he’s back to form. Luckily he’s avoided anything super major, it just feels like he’s always banged up. I feel he has great potential, but has been beat up and overshadowed (like most the team) by our elite top line.

I want to note I’ve also liked Kennedy’s play. Big, physical defensemen. Struggles at times to push guys to the outside, but makes up for it, crunching guys along the boards. He hits a lot, which I feel is needed. While it may not be best for our smaller guys (Garden/Davis/Abraham) to play an overly physical game, I really think if this team just started hitting the way they did the first 5-10 games of the season, other teams systems would be so out of whack, we’d be picking teams apart.

Went to catch a Solar Bears game this week (got to see Luchuk play) and was surprised at how much they let go physically. You can argue the ECHL is also a developmental league for refs, and man, it was so much more consistent than any OHL game I’ve watched this year.

Johnston played a 200 from game. That's why he made the Stars 1st crack. Cuylle took longer to develop the necessary game to be in the show. Protas next, offense is there, D zone needs some work. Greentree will take longer. His change of direction, D zone and shot accuracy needs work for the next level. Belchetz could likely make the show before Greentree. He is better than Cuylle and Greentree year 1. Johnston may be the best all around forward by a mile reminisce to Henrique with a little higher potential.

Scoring has dried up. If it isn't Greentree or Protas you're not getting much now. Nesbitt 10 games without a goal surprising since he had a great prospects game. Abraham scorec on Sunday but meh. Davis is injury prone. Froggett is fine but he can't be a difference maker with the way they're going. Doesn't get easier Sunday against London.
