That is not needed in any league.

It makes me wonder... how long after a faceoff for it to not count as predetermined? Or do they have to play the puck? Is it up to the officials?

Garbage win. Costanzo should be put in the press box next week, either your playing thru injury or he is back in last years form and either way he doesn't deserve to be in the net, play better period. 6 goal on 29 shots is unacceptable and it's been a pattern the last few weeks. Need to get him back into form not just giving him start after start that's not earned.

Thanks Protas for our win, man among boys and he could slip into the NHL next season. Guess will take the 2 points. Didn't come with a 60 minute effort again as usual and will only shoot ourselves in the foot come playoffs with this effort.

Onto next week, hope Walter's puts these guys thru the paces at practice because there's a hell of alot of work to be done. Same patterns and mistakes and I hope there not cheering to loud on the bus ride home because that was an ugly win!!

I think everyone does except protas. Protas was already drafted before he came to you guys so he has that ahl option but it would be fun to see him and Greentree light it up again

Wasn’t pretty,but Protas is insane!

Costanzo doesn’t need to be told he’s not playing his best. He knows it. You know it. I know it. You can see it on the ice game after game. Goalies get in their heads a lot, and you can almost see it with Joey. No lead is safe right now.
When he’s on, he’s on. When he gives up 4-5 in a game, it snowballs over to the next.

The defense can be blamed for a couple, but man, they were blocking shots like crazy. We held Flint to 1 for 6 on the powerplay, including a major. 15 Minutes of PK time, 1 goal against.

The third period was a disaster, but it was a bit out of whack. Lost Gaymes for a major, lost Costello for a game misc., lost Davis down to injury. Only had 9 forwards to finish that game.

Whether is continuing to push on offense, sitting back and playing defense, a quick goalie change, or something… we have to figure out how to stop letting one goal, turn into 3 in a matter of minutes. Started with flint on NYE and has happened every game since but Niagara with Newlove in net.

Good to see Froggett on the bench and dressed again. There’s something off with Joey, whether it’s a nagging injury, or he’s in his head, but we need it fixed, whatever it takes. If that’s a sit at home from the eastern trip next weekend and we take our chances with Newlove/Froggett, so be it.

Ugly win. 2 points thank you,on the back of Protas. Folks we may have a goalie problem. Sure they had some good looks but good goalies stop some of those. I don't recall a fantastic save by Joey tonight or last night. If he's ailjng, rest him, if he's not we better see Froggett and Newlove soon. Hate to say it but Joey's last 5 starts he has a 6.08 GAA!!!! Great play by a few unsung players like Garden winning some key face-offs, Costello putting a beat down in his fight, McNamara backed up his face-off shenanigans. Total BS call on Gaymes. Player dives to avoid hit and 5 min kneeing???? Then similar play on Davis and NO call?? Hope Davis is fine I'm not blaming the refs for the score, just a side note to call it even.

I fully agree re your comments about the goaltending of Costanzo lately,which is why I have been pushing for more time for Newlove and now Froggett as he should be healthy if he is dressing lately.
I would start this week, 1st game goes to Newlove against Sudbury at home,he has won his 2 games one in relief,both on the road,assuming he allows 3 or less and if we win he plays Saturday at Barrie,then Froggett plays at Oshawa Sunday night.
Joey gets the whole week to recover or recalibrate or both.
Will be interesting of the 3 forwards not finishing the game today Davis with his injury and Gaymes and Costello tossed,will all 3 be missing from action Thursday, 2 suspended and Davis injured hope I am wrong get the feeling 2 of the 3 will be out with Gaymes possibly not getting further punishment.
Interesting about tonight's game stats wise 13 of 18 skaters for Windsor picked up a point or more,the 5 that didn't were Mathurin, McNamara, Eichler,Nesbitt and Spellacy. And 3 of them registered Zeros as they didn't get a penalty either,Nesbitt, Mathurin and Eichler.
Greentree back on top league with points and Protas now 3rd tied with Walton 's brother,quite the duo.
What is interesting neither one of Greentree or Protas are listed in top 5 for PPGF or PPAF,great 5 on 5 players.
After tonight Windsor now tied for 4th in the PP department and 3rd after going 5/6 on the PK tonight including a major penalty kill.

I missed the Gaymes hit due to my seat having some glare. I just kinda shrugged, went “it’s Gaymes, what else is new” and figured he did it.

I’m bummed about Davis. I thought he was one of the bright spots last year and it seems he can’t catch a break. Stretched earlier this year, missed time here and there and there was a stretch before Christmas where he was playing, but he seemed injured as he wasn’t putting up much for points and wasn’t hitting either.

played the whole third with only 9 forwards… nothing against the two individually, but May have been real rough had we gone with Hicks and Winegard tonight.

Luckily we have JC Lemieux, didn’t think he was deserving of a scratch, but I understand wanting to get the new guys and everybody in.

I also think Hicks may outperform Eichler some nights for the 6th D. The depth is nice, hopefully Davis is okay.

It looked like Gaymes went for the hit, missed, but then spun his body to try to get a piece, and happened to get knee-on-knee.

I'm echoing what everyone has said about Joey. He looks tired or something is off. I don't know if it's a mental thing, a physical thing, or fatigue, but going with Newlove or Froggett on Thursday isn't a bad idea. Give Joey a rest heading into the weekend. Use this week to tighten up defence because they're letting too many guys get in close. I love the blocked shots and the physical play, but, man, guys can't be allowed to skate right in and challenge.

Windsor has to be careful not to over work Costanzo here, and not having a well-prepared back-up in case he gets hurt.

The Spits, lately, have been really quick on the attacks, but not so much coming back, giving up too many odd men rushes. It is adding extra pressure on Costanzo to perform, they have plenty of time to fix and adjust before the playoffs, but they can't relax coming back

Did not have a chance to watch the game yet but the box score looks concerning. If you would have asked me in November if the Spits had a goalie problem I would have laughed out loud, and here we are.

Also looks like players are having trouble controlling their emotions. That needs to be reigned in.

Hopefully a week of practice with the new lads and some serious conversations from the coaching staff will address the emotions. Can't out score your problems. Need to focus on stoping goals not getting them. Be safe.

I thought the staged fight rule is just the game misconduct if it occurs after puck drop. The ref determines in their opinion that it was staged even if it happens several seconds after puck drop. I don't think their is auto supplementary suspension unless instigator penalty was assessed,, repeat offender for staged fights or falls into the auto 1 game suspension for being the players 3rd game misconduct or 3rd major for the season. I have no idea on Costello's past penalty history for majors but he has 7 minutes with Oshawa so must have had 1- 5 minute this year already. He did have 100 minutes in 39 games during 1 season in the OHJL. That's 3.9 minutes per game average . Humm maybe more sandpaper than I expected lol.

Regarding Costello he got a major and a game misconduct in his and Oshawa 's 2nd game of the season for cross-checking.
He did have a few fights in JR B last year when he was a 16 year old.
Like what I have seen of him,Kennedy and McNamara so far,and both he and Kennedy have yet to have a Windsor practice yet.
Now I do expect a 2 gamer for Costello and assuming that's the case his 1st game back will next Sunday night at Oshawa his formerl team

Spits are after last night's victory 9-1-0-0,only loss on the road at London the night before,Spits have played 6 road games in this stretch and are 5-1,also 4-0 at home.
Should mention Windsor is 9-2 in the last 11 and both losses were at London,though 1 of the home wins came against London,
in fact after the 1st loss at London.
Spits have scored 56 goals in the last 10 and have allowed 37.
On the PP the Spits are tied for 4th OA and on the PK they sit 3rd OA.
Stats wise Liam Greentree and Ilya Protas are tied with 22 points in the last 10 games
identical stats 10G,12A each.
Cole Davis and Ryan Abraham are next with 14 points each,Jack Nesbitt has 12 points,Noah Morneau and Ethan Belchetz each have 9 points though Belchetz has done his in 7GP.
Carson Woodall has the most points from the D with 8,2G6A,while Anthony Christoforo has 7 points 2G,5A.
Goaltending wise Costanzo really struggled especially lately 1st 3 games he played in the last 10 he allowed 3 goals t iotal, th
e last 5 ,23 goals,and 1 of those games he allowed 3 in the 1st 5.32 and got pulled.
Carter Froggett has not played in the last 10 games and except the last 2 due to injury.
Windbiel played 1 allowed 6 bit got the win in the Sault
Micheal Newlove played 2 games both on the road,one coming in 5 plus minutes in, is averaging 2.60 with 906 save percentage.
He is 2-0.
My feelings are if Joey continues to struggle Newlove and Froggett need to play more,thankfully Windsor's ability to score most nights have over shadowed most bad nights from the goalies.
They currently are 3-1 in the last 4 games on the road,play 1 at home,Thursday vs Sudbury, then the next 3 on the road,before coming to 7 straight home games.
