Didn’t want to comment too early on Newlove after Windbiels game in the Soo, but he looks trustworthy back there. Big chest, and as stated, good rebound control. Great positioning and doesn’t play the puck like a forward being forced to play goalie in peewee lol

Both goalies were phenomenal today. Without em, we were looking at another 10+ goal game.

Seems like anyone I negatively comment on today is gonna put up points, Winegard, Eichler, Greentree… I’ll take it.

Not the most difficult stretch of opponents, but 6 games in 9 days is tough. The fact we won them all is wild.

The stretch pre-Xmas was way tougher in completion, Saginaw, Londonx2, Kitchener, Erie.
3-1-1 in that stretch. 7/10 Points
6-0-0 in this stretch. 12/12 points. 3 Joey Wins, 2 Newlove, 1 Costanzo.

Flores is playing really well, too. He did similar stuff in Windsor.
I don’t disagree, but this isn’t the only time. It feels like a stretch of 5/6 times where Greentrees able to get a breakaway/find himself skating in alone, and then not be able to finish.

Agree. And while Spellacy isn’t always logging the points I want him too, he’s a top PK guy and does provide more open chances for his linemates just with his speed.

Just thinking about these next 5 days are making me anxious

I always say... "tis the season where you have Twitter, email, and any other computer work all open at the same time." Knowing me, I'll be home on a day off, go for a quick errand, and the trade will happen at that exact time. Ask me how I know...........

I love stories like that 15 round pick , tells ya right there draft rankings don’t always matter especially when they are so young , good game windsor was fun watching from Niagara , was hoping Costanzo got the start (that one still hurts ) but the other goalie played great!

Gaymes is another that's a 15th round pick who worked his tail off to make the club. He's not going to score as much as Morneau (at least unlikely), but grit, physical, and takes nothing for granted.

#11 mourneau? I beleive is a hell of a player , energizer bunny
The problem is Spits have 3 quality OA's and really need help on D. Mathurin struggles to stay healthy and Abraham and Morneau play about the same game. Morneau is much better on the PK but Abraham is better on the PP. Splitting hairs on these 2 but if one has to go it might be better if you keep the points, Abraham.
Now is there going to be another OA brought in? Looking more and more like no so keeping the 3 the Spits have now is not a bad thing.
BUT Spits need help on D! Back to the phones Mr Bowler. Be safe.

Tell's you the character of the kid too. He never gave up because he was a late round pick.

Morneau has the same PP goals and has 2 more PP assists and 2 SH goals so losing Abraham wouldn’t really hurt much since Abraham isn’t much of a pest anymore. Morneau i think is a better 2 way guy and rather have that

Yeah, I don’t think there’s many OAs on the Trade Block that provide a guaranteed upgrade (which includes them fitting in) while still being affordable. Unless you’re trying to bring in more size. But then you run the risk of too many similar style players. Morneau and Abraham fit some niche’s that are valuable. The current top 3 lines all feel like they’re grooving. I think we all like Gaymes over Winegard on the 4th, but with what we have I really like how it’s working out. Trying not to get too comfortable with it, knowing the next 5 days could be wild

I miss pesty Abraham, but he’s drawn so many penalties this year. It would be a much bigger asset if our PP didn’t go through such rough stretches of nothing. PP has the most room for improvement, if we can get it going consistently it’s a game changer.

Abrahams got a pro wrestling career ahead of him. Kid sells like a champ. Lol

I think our O.A's are set. Abraham is very skilled in tight places, this will be a benefit in the playoffs. If anything i may question the shelf life of Mathurin. He seems to have been injured quite a bit. Can he go the rest of the year and another 25 playoff games ? Morneau is the swiss army knife of the team. He can pretty much do it all. Wouldn't surprise me if he strapped the pads on if he had to.

Yep, the biggest thing with Abe is drawing in the penalties. You can play the pest role but, if the other team gets the PP, what's the point? I have no issue with him taking a penalty if he takes the other guy with him.

I'm kind of thankful that there are no games until the deadline. Let's get that stuff over with and move on with the 2nd half.

I’m just not a big Abraham fan offensively cause his game hasn’t progressed like a Morneau. He has been a point a game player for past 3 years now. I think i was just expecting more from him this year offensively.

There is being a pesty taking bad players and being pesty and taking players off their game. Its like he couldn’t find that line and just stopped.

I almost wonder if the coaches talked to him? Kind of a "You want to take penalties? Bring someone with you or skate away" thing.
