It wouldn't shock me if we see a few players moved out - Abraham, Eichler, Gaymes, and maybe Froggett/Newlove. Bowler's shown he can be creative without leaking much and none of the last three seasons were quiet at the deadline.

I think tomorrow's game might give a better idea, if there are scratches, but I'm not fully sold on even that happening.

I'm trying to recall how many teams we've heard linked to Windsor so far - Soo, Sudbury, OS, Ottawa, Guelph, Niagara for sure. Add in the "what about (player)?" and that list could double real quick.

My guess is that you'll start hearing about moves on Monday; let the guys get home from the trip and prepare for the week.

Spits are now 9-1 in their last 10 and 16-3-1-1 in their last 21 games quite the stretch imo.
They are #2 overall in the league,2nd in the conference, 1st in the division, most home wins in the league,1st in the league in GF
4th in the league in goals against,9th in the league on the PP and 3rd in the league on the PK.
They are only team with 2 players in the top 4 in league scoring Greentree #1-67 points,Protas 4th with 60.

I will call it a nice win but way too many warts on that game.

The glaring concern for me is the play of Costanzo. Starting to look like the goalie from last year. He was great in the first half but his last few games??????
Bad thing to wish for but I'm hoping he is playing like this as a product of his injury and will get better health wise and in net. I don't think any of our present 3 back ups are experienced enough to carry this team far in the playoffs.
Spits D needs to be shored up and an experienced back up goalie brought in to ensure there is no sudden collapse in net.

Spits playing today in another arena they have struggled to win in. Icepuppies game canceled last night so they will be a rested squad.

Like others have posted it will be an important last game before the trade deadline. I guess we can all speculate on thr healthy scratches and wonder out loud players that may be playing their last game as a spit. Tough week for these kids. Be safe.

I guess the big fish would be Gibson out of the Soo. He is a local kid and would love to finish out his OHL career at home on a team that has a chance. Just not sure we would want to pay the price to bring him over. Outside of the costs, 2 solid 19 year old D men would go a long way in bolstering the Spitfire D.

I could not agree more. A proven OHL goalie would be a tremendous asset this year. If you look at any championship team in the last 10 years, they all had a super goal tending. We have won some games in the past 10 but these are against teams we should dominate, not just beat.

I find it odd in general there has only been 1 trade so far since the Christmas break in the OHL; especially with Team Canada out so early. Not many buyers? There are always some sellers. Bowler maybe be holding to the last minute for the cheapest cost. Let sellers sweat and wait for hopefully a price reduction.
U wait too long u miss the boat..

Not sure about the Spits but I think you will see some deals announced tomorrow. Only 4 days to the OA deadline so players like Konner Smith have to be moved soon.

The burning question of the day is “How do you add a top defenseman to a very good offensive squad without losing too much offense ?” IMHO it depends on how far you expect the team as it sits, to get without changes. My personal guess is no change = 2 rounds.
Playoffs are a horse of a different color and a strong defense is paramount. Add a top defenseman to this team might get you into the 3rd round this year, but will it hurt our future.
My hope is BB is willing to settle for 2 rounds this year and deal judiciously for the future.

From what i have seen of the league this year London is the team to beat. The east not so much. So the question is do you take the shot when you have a legit chance ? Can we take the Knights out and if so how? I think we can score with them, but we would need help at the back. A solid rental player should be had with nothing much going back in terms of current players but with picks. These picks can be replaced down the stretch. Look at Cam Allan, one prospect and all draft picks. Put a mortgage on the farm and lets get it done :)

Some of the names that jump out Nate Sauder Erie ( plus 13) 2005 birth date, Forgione Erie (04), Budnick (guelph) (04), Blake Smith (Flint) 04 , and of course Gibson if the price is right. Each of these mature D men play for losing teams and are in the top 40 plus minus players in the league . They should be had for a reasonable price and would tighten up the blue line immensely.

Or you get bargains when sellers are desperate.
How many circumstances are like that though? If you're talking about an 05 he still has eligibility next year if he an OA he still has value next year. If he's going to be in the AHL there will be demand for him. For example you're not getting Konnor Smith at a bargain there will be suitors. You're not getting Pinelli at a bargain etc...

There may be those situations. If you’re selling, to who? If your bowler and they go, “we need x and y for player A, or we’ll trade him elsewhere”, where’s he going? London?

How do we beat London? We stack up with guys that are 6’2”+ and crunch guys like Barkey and Cowan who are under 6’ every time given the chance.

Dress Winegard or Gaymes, and have em square off with Ryder the second he hits the ice to take him off it.

And you play the series like we played the beginning of the season. And build enough depth that we can afford a suspension or two. (Im not saying get intentionally suspended… but it’s bound to happen if youre hitting hard)

You make the rough and tough, high hitting, overly physical game, your game; and play it.

Dump, chase, hit the hell out of them and wear em down and try and get it to 7.

Excited for newlove to get a crack at the start. Been a tough building to pick up wins in, and hope to see a good effort. Hope they learned a lesson after yesterday's lack luster start and perform to their ability right from the drop of the puck.

As with any OHL Fan, I'm excited to see how the next four or five days transpire with the looming trade deadline upcoming. Hope to not throw away to many future pieces away, regardless of where we are currently seeded in our division and conference. We have a strong 06/08 core and believe next year will be an even stronger season that's if we don't mortgage away too many pieces to the puzzle.

Now if these "rumors" are correct, And Spellacy wants a change of scenery for personal reasons then i say look for a solid 07 born defenceman or strong, responsible 05 Forward. Can also see one of Froggett or Newlove gone as someone mentioned above, if the price is right and it helps one of these goalies further there career with a team where there getting more starts then so be it.

Play the right way from the puck drop, have a good 2 way team game and if Newlove can play solid then we should secure another Win.

Newlove gets the start
Gaymes,Manzo, Outwater and Froggett not dressed.
06 Gaymes out two in a row while “healthy”, 07 Manzo out as well? While Winegards in? Hmm…..

Wonder if Newloves getting more of a look to see if Froggets a moveable piece…

Hard to keep an 06’ goalie around like Froggett when Costanzo is bound to have an OA year. You’re looking at Froggett maybe getting a season of starting as an OA. Not saying we NEED to move him, just seems like limited ice time until his OA season just based on birth year.

Hopefully we don't see Winer on forward......speed is the best asset on forward and that is not his strength at all .....move Hicks up if you have to !!
Listed up front with Martin and Garden on the 4th line.

He’s a fine 6/7 D Man. Gaymes is a far better forward… I’d put money on Manzo is too.

Somethings up.

I like it and totally agree 100 %. We have to match their intensity. London plays very aggressive on pucks 60 minutes a game. Muscle does mean something in a 7 game series. Love the idea of stacking some mature smart physical players especially on D to combat their offence. ...Go Spit Go !!💪💪💪

Two things: Erie isn't a losing team and they don't have a player named Forgione.
