I am not saying Belchetz targeted him or made initial contact with his head. The rule reads you cannot make contact with a players head with any part of your body or equipment. His head was pinched against the boards/glass by Belchetz body/hip even just fir a moment to make him scorpion. As far as the no call immediately that does suck but the league will defend the ref and the players safely 100 % of the time. 5 years ago this was a great clean hit. Keep your head up next time they'd say. That rule protects a players ignorance for putting themselves in a vulnerable spot i swear many do it on purpose at times.

I as well am excited to see Windbiel, may have only happened because of the Belchetz Suspension as other 08’s Lemieux, Hicks and Garden are rightfully dressed.

Re Belchetz: I don’t think the guy even touched the boards. He got hit hard in the shoulder, with his own elbow up, and went heels over head. It is what it is, but guys refusing to look up in order to draw calls is ridiculous. This same exact hit without the defensive player knowing it’s coming, I see being called, even as blindsiding. But there’s no reason, a player at this level, doesn’t know there is a 6’4” 230lb 16 year old gliding towards you, that might be looking to make a hit.

I don’t endorse intentional concussions, but if that’s how you’re going to play hockey in the CHL, you’re asking for em

I don't see why not making a call immediately matters. This was the same problem in football when officials would immediately call a player down or immediately rule a fumble. Now they let situation play out. Every TD/turnover is reviewed and the product and rulings are much better.

I would rather avoid an immediate ruling and let them review it. Giving a 5 minute major and rescinding it doesn't serve a purpose since it can be reviewed in the first place.
