I caught the first two periods then listened to the radio for the third. I honestly didn't expect them to come out like that in the second after such a horrible first. Credit to Froggett - I said it was either going to be really good or really bad and he answered the call. He needed that as much as the team did. Add in a power play goal and outshooting the Rangers 37-14 in the final 40... you can't ask for much more. I might have preferred a few more goals but Parsons is outstanding for a reason.

Take the two points and head home to face a solid Ottawa team. Interesting tidbit - 67's forward Caden Kelly, I believe, was chosen with one of the 2nds that Ottawa got in the Matthew Maggio trade way back when.

Well game 3 tonight. Really hard to predict how the lads will respond after 2 tough games? If they play 3 solid periods they should be fine but you can see the potential for a possible hiccup. Be really nice to make this a clean sweep for all 3 games.
The play of Outwater has been very noticeable the last few games. Nice to see him use his speed and stay heavy on the forecheck. Morneau has also stepped up his game. Teams have a hard time shutting down 3 solid lines. They can usually match top lines but hard to match all 3. In close games 3rd and 4th lines can be the difference and we've seen that over the last 2 games.
Hopefully the PP can find it's mustard again. The pk has been good and I love it with the aggressive play. Don't like it when it goes stagnant. They have older faster players so keep the pk aggressive. 5 on 5 they are fine. No more lazy stick penalties makes less pk time.

Hoping for another 2 points tonight. Much different expectations from last year, lol. Be safe.

May not be a popular opinion but I think tonight's game would be a good night to rest Beltchz. First year in the O is a tough grind for any rookie and with another 3 in 3 coming up in 2 weeks it would be a good game tonight to give him a rest. Be safe.

Belchetz played 5 games in 6 days for that under 17 tournament. I would think playing 3 in 3 is easier.

Game night Ottawa at Windsor
Ottawa comes into tonight's game with a 3-1-0-2 record in their last 6 games,Windsor as noted before are 4-1-1 in their last 6.
Difference is Windsor has played 4 of the 6 on the road,Ottawa the opposite 4 of the 6 last night.
Windsor coming off a win last night at Kitchener, while Ottawa comes in after losing a shootout 5-4 at Sarnia last night.
Starting goalie for Windsor good question, Froggett coming off a big win last night at Kitchener allowing 1 goal, while Costanzo coming off a big win vs Barrie the night before and him too allowing just 1 goal, plus game before at the Soo allowing 2 in an OT.
I am good with either to be honest ,guess we will see.
As for other changes I would put Gaymes and Garden in,take out Lemieux more pre caution with him face was swollen and Hicks, didn't play poorly would rather go with 6 D and 12F in a back to back to back schedule.
As for Tanner Winegard don't know what to say,he has sat out 5 straight, is tonight #6

Go Spits Go.

I don’t know who you sit, but I’m getting Gaymes in for this one. Normally adds some energy to the games, and on a 3 in 3… with him on 2 games rest, I feel it could be helpful.
Gardens got fresh legs too.

Winegard? Yeah… I think his size isn’t enough to justify a spot if our other 7 D are healthy. I’m not sure if there’s a landing spot for him if we’re moving pieces. Manzo and Hicks continue to improve.

I’ve loved the willingness of our club to step in front of pucks. The boys are taking a toll, but you know they’re playing to win when they drop a knee in front of slap shots

Not that it's rocket science but I said prior to the weekend the PP needs to get those big bodies in front if the net with good hands and boy Torres has lit the PP back up. Fantastic weekend. The Davis we expected has come to play. Dominant all night. Greentree, Nesbitt, Belchetz, Protas going again. Tight game until the Spits buried it in the 3rd. Glad team didn't come in thinking easy 2 points after 2 tough teams. Any team will best you if you play anything less than your A game

Nice 6 point weekend. Costanzo was solid and made the saves needed. Morneau has been playing solid, better than expected this year and happy for the local kid. That whole line with Protas and Greentree had a solid weekend.

Martin and Gaymes need to tone it down a bit. Believe me i like the rough & mean hockey but in a time and place, up 4-2 with 10 left in the 3rd isnt the tjme to be throwing bonehead hits and gooning it up, just need to pick your spots for that stuff and go out there and play hockey in that situation.

On to a big week of hockey starting Wednesday versus the Spirit. Will need this team to bring it up another notch and gain some ground on some Division/conference opponents.

Great weekend Spits!!👍

I was looking ahead. The first meetings with the back to back games with London will likely be when the WJC camp is on. Usually camp starts around Dec 10th. London has 3 shoeins with Cowan, Dickinson, Bonk. We really won't see a head to head with full rosters until Jan 9th which is only 1 day before the trade deadline.

Windsor may be without Greentree and Spellacy. Spellacy played well for the US in August and may get and invite. While Greentree was not invited in August, his performance this season might put him on Canada's radar.

I didn’t even think about that. May catch a break there, with a chance to take control.

I think both those teams are so deep it’s tough to say. I think Protas is more likely.

Big 2 Points. PP at 50% on 10 chances last two games, since they said Torres was taking over after the brutal 0/7 Friday.

Costanzo was good. Davis played well and drew some big penalties. They mean so much more when you can bang in some goals. Morneaus still buzzing.

I agree on Martin and Gaymes, at the same time… I don’t think up 2 with 10 left in the third is the time to send your 4th line out there if they have that reputation. Got a bit chippy at times, I thought they held their composure better than Ottawa did. Easier to do when you’re up though.
