Well. Yes we outshot them but I felt the team was overall uninspired for the most part. Second chances/rebounds were few. Line combos with the reduced roster did not really gel. The little things like full team support exiting the zone took a step back. The Spits also seemed to lack physicality overall. The Soo played a great road game and took the 2 points. A good kick in the ass that you need to start at puck drop and bring it every game. No team is going to mail us 2 points.

I don't have a huge problem with this defeat. The SOO only managed a total of eight shots in the last 40 minutes of play. Spits had 3 breakaways, couldn't score on any of them, hit 3 posts. Miller was great in net for the SOO. These games happen. Now if they were outplayed for 60 minutes and were completely dominated then I would have a problem.

You can't win every game. Basically the Mathurin giveaway in the first shift of the game cost them , but Mathurin has been outstanding, mistakes happen. All good.

This is one of those games were it looks bad but there's plenty of good, too.

The start was ugly and everyone knows it. You can't give them a 2-0 lead and expect to not be in a fight. I don't know what needs to change but the starts have to be quicker.

Windsor outshot the Hounds 15-1 in the second but hit posts and a strong Miller. You can't play a much better period. The third was much of the same; they held the Hounds off the shot clock but kept hitting posts and just missing plays.

If Windsor plays like this every night, they'll win the vast majority of the time, even with the slow start. Sometimes you have to give props to the opposition.

That said, the starts have to get better, especially now that they're at the top of the league. Teams will target you and want that quick jump. You can't allow it.

Very strange game. It was 3 totally different games in 1.

The first period was wide open and dominated by the Soo. Soo forced Windsor into multiple mistakes.

The second period was a total Spits beatdown, however they were stymied by the Hound's tender.

The third period was a total shutdown by Soo's defence. Soo outshot Windsor 6 to 5.

The loss isn't a big deal. Starts need to be better imo 3 goals in the 1st period of the past 6 games. Hasn't hurt them until last night but if you're not scoring much early you're pretty much playing a 40 min game. Against teams that have high end talent teams would take that tradeoff.

Eventually every team loses, as long as you don't lose your last game you play.
Now coaches will likely get some more attention from the players. Winning leads to complacency and young players that can't understand why they need to change or up their game if they are winning all the time anyway.
It's what we see in Flint Friday that will tell the tale.

Ok so losses like this are forgettable if you learn from them. It wasnt a good game by any stretch. Hot goalies, sh_tty refs and goal posts are part of the game.
They werent prepared to play, when they did show some energy they were far to cute.
Not the end of the world but hopefully a reality check. When you wear the #1 tag teams are coming for you! Get used to it and learn from it.

Not going to rag on the Spits for losing their 2nd game of the season in regulation after starting the year 10-1-1 and their 1st loss at home after a 5-0 record.
For the 2nd straight game despite a slower then usual start for Windsor so far this season, the opposing goalie was the major difference his team won not Windsor.
As Walter's noted post game 3 missed breakaways and 7 goal posts along with the outstanding goalie for the opposition was the major reason Windsor lost particularly after the 1st when Windsor was by far the better team, knowing games are 3 periods not 2.
Hopefully Spits learned from this moving forward Costanzo loses for the 1st time this season after being 9-0 to start the game vs the Hounds.
Interesting of his 10 starts so far this year Costanzo has allowed 2 or less goals 8 games, last year he started over 30 and allowed 2 or less only 4 times.
2 games against another division rival Flint will be interesting and I look forward to seeing how things wind up after these games.
1st game Friday at Flint,2nd on Sunday afternoon here.
Start strong, finish strong is my wish.

Sucks losing vs the soo but thought it was a overall solid game, just ran into a good goalie that had a good game. Definitely a few things to look at and critique, alot of plays that game where they were trying to be to pretty.

Back to back vs Flint. Should be a battle & hope the team come out Flying after that loss.

Guessing Froggett gets a start during this back to back, need him to start stepping it up a notch. Just hoping to get back on the winning side tonight & see a good effort.

Go Spitfires!!!
