Not saying you should do it or not im just telling you it would for sure cost christoforo. no way your getting wright and not giving him up. Every good team in the league will want wright lol. will not be hard at all to find a dance partner. Marek already said petes would offer Van Volsen and picks for him. So even if you did offer Christoforo you mnight not get him
Well the Petes still have a couple of the Spits picks from the Cullye trade lol.

With Wright maybe returned after the WJC , what will be the price and is it worth it for the Spits who have a well rounded offense by committee? Need D upgrade and maybe another goalie do I dare say it lol. Next few outings by Onuska will tell the tale. Much tougher 3 in 3 this week. Measuring stick tonight for sure.

You'd be looking at Miedema + ?? + 2nds + 3rds. Worth it? Not sure at this point. I'd rather get a D.

Onuska starts tonight.

One thing I think Bowler should do at the deadline is make some decisons on what our overage lineup looks like next year

As it stands, here are the 2003 born skaters in the lineup:

Daniil Sobolev
Jacob Maillet
Oliver Peer
Alex Christopolus
Thomas Johnston
James Jodoin

Let’s be honest though - it’ll be between the first 4.

Try and get some value for one of the 4 obvious guys that won‘t be able to return next year. I know a lot of this is dependent on what Montreal does with Sobolev but if I’m being honest - he won’t be signed, so if he wants to, he’ll be back next year - I also think he is the player I would move if he has any value, even though defence is the teams most glaring need.

Great start and held them off for the win. Joduin looked like a 12 cylinder engine purring with the punches. Sobolev fight was over quick glad he let up after pile driving that 1 shot with the player down. That could have turned suspension if he continued. Some sloppy play at times. Looked like keystone cops on the 67's shortie. Have to believe we didn't see the 67's at their best or the East overall is just that much weaker. I'll gladly take it, should be a big momentum boost as a measuring stick game. Erie will be tough for us as usual. Hamilton will be sitting since Wednesday. Both those clubs at around the 500 mark. Just don't want a letdown after beating Ottawa. All in all not to much too complain about. GO SPITS!

A complete effort in a big win against the #1 squad in the OHL. Ottawa had a near full lineup other than Beck while the Spits were missing #2 center Abraham. I thought Peer was all over the ice tonight and DeAngelis was solid once again. I believe he is their best overall d-man right now. Have to imagine he will be drafted or signed by an NHL team at some point.

Greentree has 8 points in his last 8 games. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as a 60-80 point player as soon as next season. Peer has 9 points in his last 4 games.

The squad is 2 points out of 1st in the conference with two games in hand, no way is Bowler selling. The question is who do you target? I say another acquisition similar to the Perrott deal will be solid, need a tough d-man like him. Also, I'd look for another goal scoring forward. Do not go after Wright, it will be too expensive and this team will be just as competitive next year.

A few thoughts...

- A slightly tough start as you could tell the 67s were ready to show why they were the top team. However, the Spits kept with it, which was key.\
- That first goal was all Windsor needed. It lit a fire and the 67s realized this was going to be a game.
- I don't think anyone expected Windsor to grab a 3-0 lead but...
- All four lines were rolling. That's a testament to their depth. When you have nine or 10 different player recording a point, you're doing it right.
- Onuska looked okay, even at the end. Do I think he's back to the Onuska of old? No. Do I think he's going to give them a solid duo? For now.
- I don't know what the 67's issue with Maggio was at the end. Props to Jodoin for stepping in. I know the players and coaches appreciated that. Likely some stuff behind the scenes we don't know about. I didn't love losing the PP late in the third but, for that, I'll take it.
- You want offence? They had it. Defence? They had it. Standing up for each other? They had it. You get a win against the top team in the OHL and that's a huge boost. Now, to carry that into to notoriously tough rinks. It won't be easy and they all know it, but the win tonight helps.
- As for Bowler - he has to be in buy mode. I'm NOT saying go out and get Shane Wright... he's not worth it right now. Give me a steady, tough d-man, a solid forward, and maybe a goaltending upgrade, and they're set.

That begs the question - who do they go out and get?

D-wise, I'd love a shot at Kulakov (Erie), Hache (Kingston), Romeo/Mast (Sarnia), maybe Schmidt (Kitch).

That gets me thinking... in theory, you could do a one-stop shop with the Rangers. Get Costantini, Schmidt, and a forward like Serpa or Martin. It'll cost a fair bit but...

I know I have the least popular opinion but I really see this as the year to build towards next year. OHL hosts the Memorial Cup so 2 teams get in. It is the year to be good. You know the Hunters are thinking about this as well. Let Ottawa and Barrie blow their load buying up everyone. If Spits even do a slight buy in this year they won't be able to do anything next year. It is a tough sell sitting 2 points out of first place but I personally think this should be the approach. In a few weeks we will see what Bowler plans and his opinion is the one that really counts.

Picks maybe. Cristoforo no way IMO Alot of big fish have been already moved earlier than normal. Maybe tougher for Kingston to find a dance partner .
Wright will very likely choose the partner for Kingston, if returned.

Really thought O looked better, until the second goal, he just wasnt ready for a shot. Good win for sure! Lets see them be up on the game for the next 2!
Agree thought with the exception of the 2nd goal Onuska played well, has allowed only 7 goals in last 3 starts.
Weekend will be tough no doubt back to back with travel against both teams who would not have played the night before.
Spits did it last weekend lets do it again .

Just a note on that 2nd goal as I happened right in front of me. It may not have looked like much on tv or a different angle but that shot was lightning quick. It was off his stick and in n out so fast. Deceptive for sure, I don't see many stopping that shot in this league. Sometimes the shooter wins, that was one time. Just my opinion from my view and not directed at you HL specifically as multiple commented just too lazy to do multiple quotes.

We are good enough to win 1-2 rounds now. My hope is we deal for the future. Maggio could bring pla

I am guessing Maggio goes nowhere at trade deadline and I agree with it,dont think he would have been made captain only to get moved
On another note Spits with their 120 goals for are tied for third with Ottawa for most goals scored in the entire 3 league juniors
Winnipeg Ice have 122 and Halifax from the Q has 121 goals, difference is Winnipeg has played 1 more game then Windsor/Ottawa and Halifax has played 2 more games then Windsor/ Ottawa.
If you had told me Windsor at this time this year with the early graduation of Wyatt Johnston 46 goals last year and Pasquale Zito who had 19 goals and asked to be moved, only 19 years old and was moved for picks only that Windsor aside from player graduation would be in this spot goals wise and standings too I would not have believed you.

Witnessed that shot also. Lightening release with a rocket. That shot beats any goalie in the league 99 times out of 100.

Excellent post Agree with pretty much everything you wrote.
For example last year at this time,of the top 7 goal and point scorers 6 are gone,Johnston, Cuylle,K.Mcdonald,Henault, D'amico and Zito, only Maggio remains.
Next year other the Maggio who leads team in scoring points wise, the 6 below him will all be back,Peer,Christopoulis, Maillet, Abraham, Miedema, and Smith.
Toss in rookie Christoforo who is the 8th highest point guy.
In fact when Abraham went down Spits only had 2 players including Abraham who has 26 points that were averaging more then a point a game.
Now it's 5 players,Maggio,Peer,Christopoulis, Maillet and Abraham.
And Miedema has 24 in 26,and Smith has 23 in 24 games.
For the last 4 games in which Windsor has outscored opponents 23-9 look at these numbers and this is without Abraham
Peer-3G,6A,Christopoulis-3G,4A,Smith-4G,3A,
Maggio-2G,3A,Maillet-3G,2A,Greentree-2G,3A,
Morneau-2G,2A and Christoforo-0G,4A
Other then Maggio,I expect the other 7 players to be here next season.
And I am not even counting DeAngilis, Ride, possibly Sobolev, Spellacy, and O'Flaherty
Future is bright don't mess with it.

Not unheard off for the Spits to trade thier captain. They did trade Captains Luchuck and Sanvido back to back seasons recently 2016-2017 and 2017-2018
