How can fans take an organization for granted if they believe and you believe ticket prices are too high?? Seems like the owners are the ones taking the fans for granted especially when you consider what has happened in the past.

If you talk to anyone I can bet a season ticket package that one the first 2 things a fan would say about going to the game is affordability of said ticket. That alone is enough to keep people at home.

Windsor Spitfires tickets prices are right on par with every other team in the league........Nice try though.

FWIW, the Battalion called Christopoulos a "tireless worker and a great teammate." Character.

Alex Christopoulos traded to Spitfires | North Bay Nugget

Interesting thing about Christopoulos
When he played in 19/20 after being drafted 50th in the 3rd rd of the 19 draft he had more goals 12 then anyone drafted in that round plus the 4th round guys who played
This year however he has the lowest number goals 1 and points 2 then anyone drafted higher in rd 3 and lower in round 3 and 4 ,speaking of forwards only.
Hopefully a change of scenery will be the difference he needs, certainly showed promise and results in his rookie year.
For me low price, little risk, potential high result.
Would not surprise me if he lines up
with Cuylle and Abraham ,or
Zito and D'amico.

Is there a comparison somewhere? I looked at tickets for the Knights game there and it was $30 ... I thought the Knihome games were $25.

Edit:Knights upper bowl are $25 , lower are$35-$40 ... also ridiculous and probably part of the reason why attendance is lower this season in London also.

But just because the prices in Windsor may be on par with the rest of the left doesn't mean they are acceptable, it just means the rest of the league is way out to lunch

Interesting note regarding the trade... Christopoulos was looking for the trade, wanted to get a fresh start. He considers himself a PK guy who can create offensively. We'll see what he brings on Thurs.

And teams (not just Windsor) also probly get stuck giving a ton of seats away or eventually having deals which can be off putting to many who bought earlier. Just to get butts in the building
It's a business and they will probly price themselves outta markets at some point.
Esp with 65inch high quality TVs lol ( yes live is much better)
30 × 3000 fans= $90000
25 × 3600 fans= $90000
20 x 4500 fans = $90000
All the same to the owners but the more walk ups usually the more souvenirs n concession sales.

I've included the VIP seats because someone is still buying them. That said, SSM and NB are the outliers here.

London's upper bowl are $25

Only 4 teams higher than Windsor's lowest price, and at the high end they are tied for first with London and Guelph. In 2019/20 London was playing to 98.6% Capacity, Guelph 88.5% and Windsor 60.3%

Windsor lucky to have 60 percent.

These are straight from the team sites with fees included.

Here is London.. add $5.00 convenience fee to what is shown, so it's $30 - $55

These prices do not include promotions that many teams run. Tickets to certain games can be found cheaper for most teams.

The point about attendance is winning creates excitement and leads to higher attendance.

When rhe Spits moved to the new building, they were winning. Tickets were hard to come by. There were wait lists for season tickets.

Once the attendance started to slip, and tickets were available, the number of seaon tickets started to fall. Many season ticket holders don't want to go to 34 games, but they see it as a way to have tickets for any game they want to see, including the playoffs. When tickets are readily available, they can get tickets for the 15 games they want to go to.
Then, that 15 games becomes 10, then 5 and eventually "we enjoy the Spits, but we have to many other things going on."

This is a very common occurance in sports. Look at the Red Wings, same thing has happened.

@Otto Here's the thing. We are comparing Windsor's attendance to a statistical anomaly in the franchise's history. They averaged 5500-6200 in the first 3 years of the WFCU Centre which happened to be the two best seasons in the team's history. For almost the entire existence of the Barn the attendance was 2500-4000 depending on how bad/good the team was. So basically what you are seeing is the attendance falling back to the mean. When the Spits were bad they would get about 2300 per game at the Barn. Right now the team is in last place and the attendance this year is about 3200. Keep in mind Windsor has the lowest unemployment rate.

Also, many people I know that used to go to games regularly in the Taylor Hall years rarely attend because life happens lol. They had many younger adults attending the games when the arena first opened. Now, most of those people attend maybe 1-2 games per year. If by chance the team is elite next year they will probably have an increase in attendance to about 4-5000 fans per game.

Winning helps.
How do u get those fans back.

If the team goes back to cheap tickets in the east end zone, you could get more families spending money. $10 tickets or something. You don't need to make it entire arena, or even entire sections, to capitalize.

A.Christopolous at 18, is an above average 3rd line/checking line RW with a heavy shot, and upside of an excellent OA imo. He just was not going to get the opportunity he wanted with two OA RW, and last two 2nd picks being C/W & RW on the the team. There is also a good chance NB adds a forward by the deadline.

Ok, so, as a lot of us are saying, the issue is Marketing and the team taking its fans for granted. If they reached those high attendance numbers in the past then what's keeping them from reaching them now? You say team performance plays into it. So, doesn't that fall on the team? Why haven't they done anything to get out of that rut? You say many people you know do not attend games anymore because "life happens".. so where's the Spits Marketing on this? Why haven't they made the "Spitfires a part of Your Life".. look , I just gave them a marketing slogan, free of charge. Why are the younger people not attending? Why hasn't the team Marketed towards them? You say that Windsor has the highest unemployment rate in the Province, so why has the team jacked up the ticket prices to be one of the highest in the league? Sounds like they are taking the fans for granted.

One of the reasons younger people don't attend is because they don't need to pay to sit somewhere and be glued to their phone.
