Roles were pretty much played to perfection, even Mo'... best game of the year for him. Berube publicly saying "we need more from him", has seemed to light a fire under Mr. Complacency. Love to see it.

Game shouldn’t have been that close. Two 5 on 3’? Come on, that’s stupid carelessness. Tanev and Knies were terrific. Nice snipes by Nylander and McMann.
McCabe with his worst game in a while. Would be nice to get a goal from a Reaves, Kampf, Domi, Paccioretty, Holmberg, Lorentz and Robertson at some point soon.

Both those goals called back in the first looked good to me.
The use of video review is starting to negatively impact the viewing experience. I won't go so far as to say it's ruining the game. But it has become egregious in it's use and abuse.
McCabe's lucky Lomberg didn't beat the crap out of him.
I've seen that guy go ballistic for less. Pound for pound he's probably the toughest guy in the NHL. He's what Reaves should be for the Leafs.
This team will ride and die on it's goaltenders.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. If he can stay healthy I have more faith in Woll than any other netminder in the Matthews era. He seems to struggle with distance shots but that hasn't been a big deal yet.
All Berube has to do is challenge any goal based on some silly superfluous reason and there's a good chance it'll be overturned anyway.

I didn’t see much of the Edmonton game but last night I saw a team that push the pace. Pucks were moved quickly. PP pucks were moved quickly allowing opportunities that I haven’t seen in a while. Rielly had his best game of the year. Woll again solid.

They had angle where JT was looking too high but this one was close but flames could probably challenge it for goalie interference when JT hit Wolf hand to make him lost the puck so i don't think that would change anything
For the farabee goal... Huberdeau push Woll blocker and disallowed him to extend his arm to make the save and the puck passed exactly where his blocker would be without huberdeau. Just the fact Huberdeau disallowed any chance to Woll to make that save made it a pretty easy call for both Berube and ref.

If they could get something out of Domi and stop Marner from forcing plays to Matthews too.. it’s a win win.

Lorentz and Pacioretty are cheap secondary players providing physicality and size. Robertson had a very good game despite the goose egg, and he's been solid since his first half season curse. 7th in goals for on the team ain't too shabby.
They desperately need find upgrades over Kampf and Holmberg though. Talk about empty calories. I was a big defender of Holmberg for awhile but yesterday was the kind of game you go on waivers for. Leafs seriously need to call-up Steeves and make a damn center trade.
Domi is most ineffective player vs what is expected. Imagine a real player of that value in his place what a difference that would make. He is not as valuable as Lorentz and Lorentz is a replaceable chip.
Fun game to watch.
Honestly didn’t miss seeing M&M stapled together and their cutesy putesy shit.
Marner’s creativity and effectiveness is completely lost when he’s with Matthews. It’s like he loses his identity as an elite player and just turns into a Matthews feeding machine.
Domi can do that just fine and Marner can be a more dynamic player on a different line.
Found myself watching Weegar a lot and other than his turnover at the blue line, he’s a terrific defender and a real missed opportunity by Dubas if he had been available.
No way to prove it, but I honestly feel Lomberg did not start pounding McCabe because Reaves was in the lineup and would get absolutely smashed.
Good to see Rielly have a game like that.
