I know they won't trade Regehr. That would be ideal but it's not happening. And there's no shot in hell we get a 2nd or 3rd for Scuds UFA rights. We'd get a 5th rounder TOPS for trading his rights. In reality, we'll let him walk. Doesn't matter - Kevin Gravel will be here to save the day defensively soon enough. Can't wait to see him paired with Drew or Slava.

How close is Gravel to being ready for the jump to The big club?

I'd have liked him to go pro this year but he'll be back in St. Cloud with Dowd next year, which is fine. After that, give him a year in the AHL and we'll go from there. I'd say 2 or 3 years and we could see him breaking in to the league.

Awesome. The way Dean was talking I thought Willie was a longshot for a return, but if he comes back that would be amazing. I'd still like to re-sign Scuds. Since teams are always hungry for a good stay-at-home D, it should be easy to move either Scuderi or RR for a decent return. Regehr would be my choice; IMO Scuds is just better. Of course, Scuds may not re-sign with us, which would make Willie's return all that more important.

You are probably dead on with the timeline.

With Gravel I think it is possible that we might be looking at him to come up for the 14/15 season. Finish his collegiate season and then do the 7 games in MCH +playoffs and then be geared up for the next season. Of course Forbort and Des are in front of him but like you I see some very great things in KG's future so anything is possible.

Dean was being honest last week and Mitchell is a long shot to return. He has to skate it's part of his rehab process and if the Kings want him on LTIR that is part of the deal. The same reason Pronger has to come to Philly every few months to see a doctor and then report that he' making some progress' when he'll never play agan and it's a loophole to keep him on LTIR>

I love Willie and the Kings missed him in more ways to count this year, eps in the Room. And I hope he can rehab to the point of contact and return, but it might not be to the same level as he left.

Sighing RR was insurance against either Willie not returing or the Kings not having the money that Scuds wants and maybe what another team will give him.

Imo if DL can not come to terms with scuderi before the draft he is gone, and he will look at obtaining his replacement via trade of bernier and someone like Martinez or muzzin. I think DL has to go on the premise that mitchell will not be back. If holloway is signed they really won't need a LW as badly and DL has made it known he Would rather set his D corpse over any winger any day of the week.

Lombardi said about a week ago that he's about at the point when he suffered a setback last time. Let's hope this time things progress. WM returning would be far, far more important than trading Bernier, signing Holloway or even re-signing Scuderi. Fingers - crossed.

It is great to see him making progress. But until he gets cleared for contact there is still a long way to go.

Actually wasn't he CLEARED for contact before ? and it was Willie that thought he couldn't go, and then had a setback while rehabbing ? I kind of forget the exact timeframe of events now but I think it was the case.

IF we lose Scuds ... getting Pickles back will certainly ease the Blow

REGEHR - DOUGHTY
MITCHELL - VOYNOV
MUZZIN - GREENE
Ellerby

SCUDERI - VOYNOV

either of the 3 options look pretty damn good going into next year :)

I think so but I couldn't remember so I didn't want to get crussified by saying something more extreme.

Let's hope the next contract he receives is behind our bench as the new defensive coach...

Or a 1-2 year extension after he comes back, shuts down every team we play against, makes all Kings fans realize how good he was and how much he truly was missed, and wins us another cup.

What a team mate, Quick out there with him.

Man Quick is one hell of guy, I can see why the locker room loves him.

Quick said the best advice Ranford every gave him was.

Bill Ranford "Take care of your Defenders, take those guys out to dinner".

Quick is no dummy.

He can see what the defense could be in Mitchell can't play and Scurderi doesn't come back. He's thinking "****, I gotta get this dude back on the ice!"
