There's a reason all the former players do the qualifiers with Nylander, which is odd given the production. It's because they see the game, and they see a game breaker who's deeply flawed defensively, they see the give a shit meter come and go.

If you're a sadist, rewatch the game again and it's classic Willie. Doesn't dig ONE puck out in our end, content to stand around and wait for some other soldier to grab it so he can blow the zone. When someone else does win a puck great, when they don't last night we're hemmed in and be isn't blocking shot either. Players see that, which is why he takes heat, despite the incredible talent. Domi bailed him out with a plus he has zero to do with, fact is he was a ghost in our end, a blue pylon, zero jam and no compete to win a puck. Soft is kind. Doesn't work in the playoffs.

Nothing gets to him, that's also part of the problem actually. Saying he did his part masks the reality he folded again when we needed him. Zero points, minus 3, last four games, what else is new.

Yeah, people choose to ignore this stuff because occasionally he scores.. but after you start making a point to watch his effort away from the puck you realize he's a goal suck and a horrible teammate. That kind of effort from him happens all the time.

Over last 5 game in Florida series, Nylander just did everything he could to avoid been hit even in game 3 in OT he was ultimately the reason #1 why leafs lost that game. Nylander affraid to be hit just throwing away the puck on panther stick and unstead to just accept a hit and dump the puck for an easy line change, they stayed on the ice tired... And he did it on every shift he played in that OT and next 4 game.

If he just come in that OT with a real attittude to win this game, Marchand goal never happened and maybe leafs who won it a leading 3-0 and probably don't need to play a f***ing game 7. I just not understand how you can cover a guy who didn't show up in a f***ing overtime and next 4 game.

If the only way to convince you Nylander was not trash is to compare with player who also be trash...

Now Marner is probably gone, with his salary he should be a player leading the way and not the guy avoiding the most physical game by a miles...
