Knies for president bro tkachuk says Hes going after nylander next game and Knies leans over on Willy and ask tkachuk what about me ? That kids gold
That still seems to be the intent but it looks like they are having trouble finding shooting lanes and seem to hesitate once one opens up.The PP definitely needs to stop screwing around and get pucks to the net any way they can. They are back to being so slow and predictable. Quick decisions, a couple of passes, and crash the net.
Nick “CAPS LOCK” Kypreos likes to that I’ve noticed - jab Nylander with something stupid, then disappear, waiting for his second account/buddy, “the Courageous Canuck”, to like his commentNice backhanded jab from the biggest Nylander hater. Aren't you even a little bit embarrassed to constantly post this sort of garbage?
More accurate to say that he was pretty good, he's been amazing up until now and it's not him that needs "a pass". Hope the rest of them pick it up on Wednesday because while Nylander is amazing, expecting him to beat Florida by himself is a bit much.
Yeah, they could really use a PPQB that has a threatening shot from the point. Whats your thoughts on Marner and Matthews, Mr Courageous? The PP definitely needs to stop screwing around and get pucks to the net any way they can. They are back to being so slow and predictable. It was never a 2on1, so there goes your whole specious argument. You would agree with me that Nylander is the best skater on the team, yes?
He is also the forward that is furthest back as he's passing the puck to the other forwards who are straddling the blue line.
Tavares has never been a great skater, and he's covered by 2 defenders.
It's also on the player who coughs up the puck to try and make amends.
Now, the play goes back as a 2 on 1 with the 2nd defender tracking back. Those 2 defenders made a meal out of the play, really. And yet, there was no scoring chance on the rush as Bennet has to track back and into the slot for the shot that goes in.
There was enough time for Nylander to have caught up with Bennet and either forced him to shoot the puck from the initial bad angle or risk getting tied up.
But the problem with Nylander that is not shared with the other top 3 forwards is that he is very much prone to having no energy in defensive situations. This was clearly illustrated in overtime the game previous as well.
It's merely an effort issue.
Really not a whole lot the coaching staff can do about it.
They really can't even attempt to shelter the player from this.
Game 3 and 4 opponents for Nylander and his performance against them.
Specifically Barkov and Lundell.

I'd be going after 88 all game long. He is the most dangerous when Knies is not.Knies for president bro tkachuk says Hes going after nylander next game and Knies leans over on Willy and ask tkachuk what about me ? That kids gold
Sure did. What a beauty.Knies for president bro tkachuk says Hes going after nylander next game and Knies leans over on Willy and ask tkachuk what about me ? That kids gold
You mean demand he go the net, don’t you? That still seems to be the intent but it looks like they are having trouble finding shooting lanes and seem to hesitate once one opens up.
They need to utilize Nylander more as the shooting option and let Matthews go to the net, roam around.
Looks like getting Barkov on Nylander was an extremely smart move by Maurice. Unfortunately Nylander has to go into that matchup being undermanned as he doesn't get to play with the best PF on the team or a defensively responsible centre (who can't score goals) or a defensively responsible playmaking winger. You would agree with me that Nylander is the best skater on the team, yes?

you can do this at home, but you can't really on the road, and it's probably the biggest reason the Leafs lost both Florida games. Florida does not respect Matthews ability to generate any offence at 5 on 5 anymore. We can't fool them anymore. They often started even the 4th line in the dzone from what I recall against Matthews. It completely negates everything about the Leafs. At least 30% less effective.Looks like getting Barkov on Nylander was an extremely smart move by Maurice. With the M&M line getting easier matchups they weren't able to do what Willy did with JT and Patches. Gonna need Berube to chase matchups hard at home. If Marner can't get pucks through and Matthews can't hit the net, you need to make sure that they are hard relegated to keeping the Barkov line in check. Let Willy's line handle the offense against other matchups.

They should still score. It is our first line. Scoring is in the job description, not just go +-0.And yet they have played the 2 Selke finalists against Matthews Knies and Marner more than anyone else this series.
By a factor of 2:1
Damn, yet again it seems like feelings and facts don't quite line up.
Not when we’re on the road misleading again are we? You just posted the stats contradicting your new post LOL you guys are disgusting we’re supposed to be on the same team hereAnd yet they have played the 2 Selke finalists against Matthews Knies and Marner more than anyone else this series.

Still missing the fact that you're looking at stats for 4 games when the conversation is about 2?And yet they have played the 2 Selke finalists against Matthews Knies and Marner more than anyone else this series.

100% they need to score but at the end of the day it's always better to be a plus than a minus. They should still score. It is our first line. Scoring is in the job description, not just go +-0.
Hes right definitely moving the goal posts to help Mitch but ultimately Hes actually right in a sense too much money and talent to set such a low bar though100% they need to score but at the end of the day it's always better to be a plus than a minus.
Winning is all that matters, coming on top of your match up is a pretty good way of achieving that.
4 more goals combined from Matthews and Marner would have made a huge difference, even 2 more goals(while maintaining D as is) .100% they need to score but at the end of the day it's always better to be a plus than a minus.

Sure or another line giving up 2 or 4 less would make a difference as well.4 more goals combined from Matthews and Marner would have made a huge difference, even 2 more goals(while maintaining D as is) .
Then why pay them the money their getting lol your a jokeSure or another line giving up 2 or 4 less would make a difference as well.
To think people thought Berube wouldn't like Nylander. He's likely one of his favorites on the team.
Not if they made 2 or 4 more. Thats my point. I dont expect the other lines to be much better on D. But i expect our first line to be much better at scoring , and knies second best on that line. I expect Matthews to be 1-3 in goals overall in the playoffs. Marner 3-5 in assists.Sure or another line giving up 2 or 4 less would make a difference as well.
It's not complicated, you score more than you give up and you should win.Not if they made 2 or 4 more. Thats my point. I dont expect the other lines to be much better on D. I know what plus minus is. A not so great stat overall. Matthews still only got 2 goals. Not near enough. It's not complicated, you score more than you give up and you should win.
If one line has plus players and one line has negative, the ideal is the negative to turn into a plus.
