60% of the time. He does still get pretty lazy but the clutch performances are consistently there so not much anyone can say.

He's been amazing, how can anyone not love the Knies beast!
One thing that really made me happy was just seeing Nylander out there in the last minute of the game. I wonder if all those people who have been saying how Nylander is a black hole defensively will shut the puck up for a little while, seems like the coach trusts him and with good reason.
Very happy to see him come through in the clutch again. Like I said yesterday, he has some head scratching WTF moments when it looks like he's not even trying but everyone looks bad at times, you need to look past that, it's the overall big picture that matters and when you're the only player on the team who keeps performing in the biggest games, that counts for a lot!
Marner averaged 3 minutes of ice time more per game than Nylander against Ottawa, but last night Nylander led all forwards in ice time. I can only hope that Berube is catching on and that this trend continues. GLG!!
So much more goal scoring responsibility is on his shoulders with Matthews being injured a lot.
Last night reassured me that Nylander will age gracefully. He's obviously injured and not skating as fast, but that's probably what Willy will look like mid 30s.
He is our best player or second best player but I’d love 12 Knies instead if im being honest but I think we’re in great hands even if marner isnt resigned

Tanev is our best player and MVP. The guy just never takes a shift off and never makes mistakes. If we had 6 Tanev’s we would win the cup
Tanev is our best defender him and mccabe but best player your out to lunch the pucc has to go in the net to win its great if it always stays out but if it doesn’t go in you don’t win I get the sentiment though

I hope Matthews takes this next series over. That was a brilliant goal he scored, but we need more Sundin tide-turning events when they’re needed. That’s what a 1C C does.

Yeah I'm happy with the way Marner played against Ottawa but he hardly seems like a necessity at this point. Matthews, Nylander, JT and Knies is a fair bit of offence and star power already, use that cap space to fill out the forward group and I think we'd look pretty darn good. GLG!!

Exactly. 11.5mil players are paid for being clutch. think he had 5 points in elimination games this past series(Game4-6).
Looking around at the other team's boards on HF, it seems like most fanbases agree that Nylander is the Leafs best player.

I think he has two higher gears than what he showed this series.
The skating speed everyone has noted, but the engagement needs to be better. I thought he was so locked in the Tampa/Florida/Boston series compared to this series.

A few years ago now, I said he should be our F-cap bar and considered for the C. I get the “should” argument for Matthews, but funny how time and exposure erodes superficial criticism.
It was crickets when I posted as much.
He’s clearly playing hurt. Not the same speed to his game at all.

I agree with him personally. Idk about better player but I also thought he would be a better captain than Matthews. Maybe if Nylander was one of those guys who could physically sustain his play more he would be better than Matthews overall. Not saying he's out of shape but he's one of those players where all he needs is gas in the tank to perform
I mean are we looking at offense only here and when Matthews is playing with an injured wrist?
So only now it’s convenient that Matthews is injured? Cmon now I agree with you but it can’t be only when it suits the argument Hes injured it’s the same reason marner doesn’t look as good right?
