All four goals were exclusively Willy's fault.

That is the never ending false narrative from Leafs fans but it isn’t true.

He’s a liability defensively while they are both well above average, and they have both out produced him offensively over their careers.

In the last 5 seasons, he has more goals than Marner and more assists than Matthews, in almost identical ES and PP ice time but with lesser linemates (which has also affected his defensive stats).

12th in goals and 14th in points in the entire league over that time.

The biggest "false narrative" is that linemates shouldn't be considered, and that playing with the best scorer in the league and the best LW on the team isn't an advantage.

It looks like they were 1:30 into the power play already. Not easy to catch a guy who can actually skate from behind at that point. The optics didn’t look good, but he looked gassed

But you posted a very selective few seconds of play from hours of playoff ice time with no context or comparative information.

I've seen things on line that proport to prove the would is flat. As Plato said, not everything on the internet is gospel.

Even when he's not on, I still have hope/belief that Nylander can make something happen.

It was incredible watching 16 and 34 hop over the boards time and time again knowing that they weren't going to accomplish anything for the next 30-40 seconds, only to skate off.

Yes Willy can change da game because of his speed and skating .. when he wants to .. Mitch and Matty can't keep up so their only hot at effectiveness is PP and PK .. common Willy just 1 game where you LEAD da TEAM all across da ice everywhere .. you will be da HERO of TO forever if you make it happen .. please Willy please make it happen .. thank you in advance

Considering you can't name one single player in the entire NHL that's at his best every shift, this is a really dumb thing to say

There are times when Nylander does things that make him look really bad. But he does so many good things than I've learned to just live with it. Most important IMHO is that unlike M&M, he doesn't fade away in the biggest games and for me anyway, that makes it easy to live with his WTF moments.

I was disappointed to see his back check on that short handed goal. If he skates the way he can there it’s not a 2 on 1. He easily breaks that up and it’s still only 1-0 Ottawa.
