William Nylander

Seemed like was bobbling the puck a lot on outlet passes in Game 2 and 3. Has been more physical on the forecheck but hasn’t shown the same take charge offense as he did vs Boston. Part of the problem on the 4 minute PP in OT. That’s a collective effort even if Matthews, Marner and Rielly looked visibly worse and lackaidasical. He’s got another gear than this and a take charge attitude. He’s gotta look more commanding than Tim Stutzle come on.
If Willy decides to take charge this series is over when he does .. common Willy it is time to sleigh da dragon .. da good news it is inside of him .. he has da capacity to flip da switch and be da best man on da ice .. now we need him to deliver beast Willy

He's a beauty as usual but something looks off with his skating and timing, looks like he is playing through something as many guys are around this time of year. Hopefully not too serious, but it is imperative that they finish off this series tomorrow and get as much rest as possible.

In the playoffs you need secondary scoring (which we've gotten) but gonna need Nylander to act like the best goal scorer on our team again and potentially potentially one (or two) on Sunday.
It’s not Just William, 3 guys made 36 million they have provided 3 goals. The same number as JT who many think 7 million is an overpay. Can’t make this shit up. lol

Willy was the best player on the ice last game, 'terrifying' a Sens fan mentioned, and had our defence been strong enough to win his two perfect passes would have been the elimination game breaker.

Hopefully he can keep going though.

Some people will tell you it was Mitch or anyone else

Need a big night tonight, tilt the ice.
One goal from the second highest player isn't nearly good enough.
It his however, perfectly ok if you are the highest paid player, or if you are a player projecting to get paid 13+ mil in future seasons.

Nylander has been more than fine this series, and if he proceeds to provide excellent playmaking that sets others up for easy goals, I couldn't care less about how many he scores himself.

Isn't it the Marner-stans on this board that always tries to argue that assists are just as valuable as goals?

Why would you think it's ok for the others not to score? Weird take.

I guess the sarcasm wasn't obvious enough, but I consider it a weird take to bump a Nylander thread about how he needs to do more when he has been doing fine so far this series in terms of offensive output, especially from someone that has shown clear biased opinions about other players on this team in the past, but that's just my opinion.

It is good enough if he continues to set up tap ins for easy goals. 6 points in 4 games is "good enough". Who cares who scores? As long as it's someone on the Leafs.

Same with Matthews and Marner. If they all have 5-6 assists, and they are not svoring the goals, then it just means it Knies, JT or a dman.

One goal shouldn't be acceptable for a guy who's paid to score goals, the same applies to Matthews.
He's played well, he needs to tilt the ice and put the puck in the net like he did all season.

This is a thread to add comments to, there's no bumping or bias, such a weird take.

Of course goals are good, that's what I'm saying. Score some goals.

How many did your best and second best paid players score in last years playoffs, and how many have they gotten this year? Nd did you write this in their threads too? Otherwise, it’s pretty weird

You are missing the point, why do scoring goals matter when he is setting up players and racking up assists? Is a goal more valuable than an assist? I know you don't seem to think so when evaluating other players.

Lol.

I am just saying I don't care who scores them. If he is setting up goals with primary assists a la Marner then it doean't matter to me if he actually is the one who puts it in.

That first pass he made to Tavares probably you or I could have tapped it in. The OEL pass was terrific but OEL still had to make a great shot.

Just win! I am rambling

He's been excellent at finding the open guy for easy goals, no doubt.
Saying the 2nd leading goal scorer in the league over the season needs to score goals isn't a wild take.

All I'm saying is he and Matthews are paid to score goals, they need to score goals. They won't go anywhere without those two scoring goals.

It certainly makes it more difficult without them scoring.

But they could go a long way if they keep averaging 1.5 ppg the rest of the way.
