30 % of holmbergs time on ice is centering willy it’s a testament to his individual skill that Hes scored and gotten the points hes gotten this year…….. that’s crazy staple holmberg to the fourth line or trade him
N acc talking about marners point lead on Willy first line winger vs second line winger and quality of linemates suggests something to mePoor Willy. Our depth is so bad and he gets put with all of it
I'm not sure why any of the three would be considered "rusty" and having to be "eased back in to the ... lineup". It's not as though they were sitting idle on a beach somewhere while the rest of the team was playing/practising - just the opposite (sans beach).![]()
Craig Berube Reveals Timeline for William Nylander's Return to the Maple Leafs
Craig Berube reveals when fans will once again see William Nylander back playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs after his 4 Nations Faceoff exit. After Sweden's exit from the Four Nations Faceoff, William Nylander is headed back to Toronto, with Leafs head coach Craig Berube giving new insight into...www.yardbarker.com
Nylander will be returning after both a disappointing exit as well as a difficult sickness that spread across the Swedish dressing room.
Cam Robinson of EliteProspects reported that the Swedish players were dealing with a flu bug that caused serious symptoms including dehydration.
Multiple players for Sweden missed the team's final game against the United States, and although Nylander did play; it's unclear if he was or is dealing with the same illness that ravaged the locker room.
At this time, it's not known when William Nylander will be back in the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup.
When Will William Nylander Return To Action For The Leafs?
Ideally, the hope for the Toronto Maple Leafs would be having Nylander ready for the team's next game Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Afterwards, the Leafs start a four-game road trip that the team would want Nylander apart of to ensure he's playing in a long and pivotal stretch.
With Auston Matthews & Mitch Marner also returning from the Four Nations tournament, all three will need to be eased back in to the chemistry of Toronto's lineup.
But Nylander coming back first will mean needing him ready if Matthews & Marner are a bit rusty returning.
Nylander has 33 goals, 22 assists, & 55 points in 55 games this season for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
There is no timetable yet for the return of William Nylander to the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup.
It's unknown when he will be practicing with the team and if his absence is giving Nylander a rest from the intensity of the Four Nations, or if it is apart of a bigger issue that is being taken as precautionary, such as illness.
For now, the Toronto Maple Leads continue without Nylander, Matthews, and Marner while waiting to make sure all three are ready to go once plays resumes in the NHL on Saturday.
Guess he didn't want empty netter.
Only cause it was another Swede with him lol heavy emphasis on ONLYGuess he didn't want empty netter.
Was he injured yesterday?
Looked like one of his wrists. Must have happened late in the game, didn't play in OT.Was he injured yesterday?
Apparently wrists injury, guess he has been playing by himself a bit too muchWas he injured yesterday?

He’s got such a sneaky release.Currently 2nd in goals in the league.
Not too shabby
Only 9 players have more goals over the last almost 4 seasons, and with the possible exception of Draisaitl they all play on the top line.I used to think Nylander has such a deadly shot, how come he doesn't score more than he does? Good to see he finally got there, that OT snipe was a beauty!
He's been getting that a lot all year - comes with the goal scoring and the linemates.Noticed he was getting double teamed at times in this game and vs NYR.
Smart move
William could have had at least 2 more goals, twice he passed up on shooting an empty netter and dished it to Holmberg. One of the times the pass was more difficult than if he just shot it.30 % of holmbergs time on ice is centering willy it’s a testament to his individual skill that Hes scored and gotten the points hes gotten this year…….. that’s crazy staple holmberg to the fourth line or trade him
