It’s sad that we have a p.ssy star player specifically targeted by likes of marchand and tkachuk, cause they know he will cave in. 11 million reasons not to encourage softness in playoffs.
Swayman showed he didn’t want to be intimated. We’ll see what he learned.

Resigning Marner == Running it back

Just like he was going to be gone July 1st last summer?
Of course that was dreaming. (I said it was).
We all knew Marner was blocking it.
Not to mention there was zero interest around the league for him / his contract.

At the very minimum, for the team to have any shot at pretending they are trying to build a cup winning team, they *HAVE* to move on from JT.

I am for moving on from JT and Marner.

That is quite unlikely.

Since marner has negative trade value I would sign up for 8.7 million crosby style

I think the team needs change to win.
Re-signing Marner = Running it back.

It's that simple.

I think he is a great player. Our team could be worse without him. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

His game just doesn't translate into the post season.

So, with that view, he isnt that good when playoff hockey starts.

You want to run it back with the same old, same old ?

Absolutely, I’m in for the long haul right to the bitter end until they retire. Our day will come.

What are you even talking about? The guy asked when they sat out, and I told them. Every player wants to play, but the team comes up with the optimal play schedule leading up to the playoffs, and the players follow that, because it's about team over individual.
Sorry i totally misunderstood what was being discussed. How embarrassing.

Having professed his wish for a longer look at centre from head coach Craig Berube at the start of camp, William Nylander had to do some stickhandling around the question the past couple of days.

Berube is not making it a full-time switch, at least to start the season, and Nylander continues to practice on right wing with centre John Tavares and Max Domi.

“Position is no big deal, you want me to play centre, I’ll play centre,” Nylander said. “It doesn’t matter. It’s such a big conversation for you guys, I guess.

“I got some reps in. If that were to happen, let’s say I was playing (in Montreal), Chief would say: ‘Okay. we’re going to give you centre today’ and I’d have a practice to get into it. I know a little bit more about what the position entails now and the system stuff.”

Nylander does know one thing about the whole exercise.

“I feel like this training camp has gone on forever,” he quipped.

The centre experiment didn't last long under Berube either. Looks like it wasn't Keefe to blame for giving up on it.
Big shocker

Becoming an nhl center is hard as it is, transitioning from a winger to a Center is even harder

He’s a superstar winger, let’s keep him there. At least keefe had that much right.
