Value of: Willander packaged to move up in draft

As a Blues fan, I'd trade Adam Jiricek, our 2025 first, Colin Ralph, and any two forward prospects not named Snuggerud, Dvorsky, or Stenberg for Willander alone.

I understand that it's very much a quantity for quality trade, understand why Vancouver fans probably won't go for it...but it's all I'm willing to offer, especially given the comments made by Willander's agent.

Just for discussion if Vancouver somehow decided they needed to trade Willander (they shouldnt) would they do something like trade for an NHL ready prospect in Luca Del Bel Belluz? Just had a fantastic AHL season, while maybe swapping picks

Maybe? Sells a lot of season tickets and huge advertising to have the three brothers. The Devils are competing with the Islanders and Rangers (and all the other entertainment in NYC region) for dollars. It would mean huge revenue for them. Sure it’s not actually going to help them win and actually favours Van. But the league is about money. And this would generate a ton of money for the Devils.
There is no chance Nico gets traded he is the leader of the team...Does it all...One of the best 200 ft players in the game....Best way to compete is to win this trade would start them rebuilding again.....

I like him but I wouldn’t trade Willander for him.

It would have to be one of Voronkov or KJ coming back. Thats the only realistic way Vancouver would ever part with Willander. Otherwise, they’ll bend and sign his demands .

Canucks pick is ranked 15th pre-lottery and that's not likely to change.
With the defense fairly set, and questions at forward, the Canucks might want to move up in the draft and choose a high-impact forward.

Which teams would move down and take the Canucks 15th pick + Willander?
Does Boston pick up the phone assuming their pick stays at 5?
Hell, the Canucks are a mess right now and you /want/ to trade one of your better prospects for a maybe? Why? Whose the target in this fairly weak draft year?

You seriously need to add in any case. And why would you do that instead of packaging it up to get help now?

Canucks are desperate for a established or high potential young C.
Willander is by far the best piece alongside the 15th pick to land that C.
So i just don't see a point in trading up for a player that's not ready for 2 years with this ownership

Yup, I have to laugh not at this proposal but the fact there's like four threads about the nucks and not one is based off the reality of where this team intends to be.
JR and Allvin for better or worse are very transparent, I would put money on Vancouver being the most active team at the draft and on July 1st.
Quinns not going anywhere yet a thread exists, nucks blowing it up thread another pointless thread, Demko trade thread, also pointless.

Despite everything that this team endured they finished with 93 points? Rebuilt their defense, top five goalie tandem and everyone's healthy going into the summer.

As for Willander he stated he had nothing else to learn in college and they are only 200k apart, he will be signing but with the emergence of EP2 and how are Dcorp looks with Mancini, Kudriatzev, Mynio all looking like they will be NHlers I would not be opposed to moving Willander if he was part of a package for a Larkin, Barzal, or someone of that Quality.
Add in a Marner, Ehlers, Bennet, etc things look a lot better.

If Vancouver is hell bent on getting a center in return for Willander, the Blues are probably out of the discussion. If they would entertain a trade where Kyrou is the main piece coming back, I would at least see if a deal could make sense.

I will add that unlike a vocal part of the Blues fan base, I value Kyrou a lot. He has great chemistry with Holloway. RHD is a need for the Blues short and long term.
There’s no news of us trading him for centerman. Our management did say they are seeking one via a trade with draft picks.

However I’m not surprised If we included Willander in the trade to get a centerman, which could be holding things up.

Owner will fire any management who even says the word “rebuild”. Will not hear that word used out here from the club. Van will trade Willander and their first (2025) for help now. Definitely no rebuilding type moves.
Ownership is an ongoing problem it seems.

Probably okay "value wise" but Canucks need Willander to sign and flourish here.

They also would be better off and use the Boeser money to even overpay for a Center in FA and draft a center in the first round and maybe second round as well for the future.

Is Willander reluctantly expendable with Mancini? Does 15 and Willander get you a top draft centre, or do they want a young up and coming centre? Is there a re building team with an extra top 6 potential centre interested in futures and a good rd prospect?

Then you would have to hope that Hughes really wants to come there when he is a UFA because you need to give to get.
Don't need to give when it is not a need...There is no reason for the Devils to try to trade for Quinn H....Not a knock on the player but to get as u say u have to have a need NJ doesn't need another Hughes brother in NJ right now...As a ufa he might want to play with his brothers that's more of a Canucks problem then a NJ Devils problem imo...NJ will not trade Nico unless he demands it.....

Willander for Habs 1st #17 + Micheal Hage ?
Don't think that makes sense for Montreal. Hage had a great d+1 year and is not that far off of Willander as a prospect and is also projected to fill a major need for Montreal going forward.

Maybe #16 + #17 for Willander? If Canucks really want a C they would have picks 15, 16, 17 in the draft to flip, or they'd look somewhere else. I wonder if Willander for Rossi could work? Would be weird after Minnesota already got Jiricek but oh well. CBJ and BUF would make sense, they have a lot of assets if Canucks want young players/prospects back and not just picks. Washington could make sense too.
