No, opposite. These types of games are good experience and many of the Caps lack playoff experience. They’ll have a hard time in the playoffs as it’s a whole new game.

No. Rögle BK won the Champions Hockey League in 2021 and still went to the SHL finals. Skellefteå AIK went to the Champions League Hockey final last season and won the SHL championship. A few more games isn't doing anything to a pro athlete.

I think the advantage of rest is marginal. What I expect though is guys having a chip on their shoulder for not being able to attend the 4 nations tournament.

Ovechkin breaking the record could be a big morale boost if it happens this season going into the playoffs. We’ll see how it goes, I just hope they’re not sloppy or rusty coming back.
