Will the Tkachuks be targets?

I’m not an Ottawa or Florida fan, but these are amazing players that any fan base would be stupid to not want to have on their team.

The league’s top players are always targeted. Players with big mouths are always targeted. Both Brady and Matt are top players with big mouthes… they have had a target on their backs for years already, I don’t think anything changes because of their performances/antics during the 4 nations cups.

If anything they gained a few extra fans and disgruntled a few of my fellow Canadian compatriots, but man oh man are those guys gamers.

Hope to see Brady finally play meaningful hockey in the month of April, I hope it just doesn’t come at the expense of my Detroit red wings.

Targets of what? They already were bombed with clean hits, no one is really gonna risk suspension.

If you mean targeted on the ice for other players trying to amp up their bench or stand out to management, I feel like that might go up a gear or two in frequency.

If you mean targeted in trades by other teams, it’s doubtful Matthew is leaving Florida given the success and tax situation, so then the question becomes whether or not Andlauer (Sens owner), being knowledgeable about the game, would let his FO move their biggest piece after publicly accusing least one other franchise of trying to tamper with them, knowing how much of a popularity boost that player just got.

That sounds like a sell-sky-high+, and I don’t know if there’s a team in the league that could pay that, would pay that, and still maintain enough of a team to not be close to or behind the position that the Senators are right now, in a WC spot.

It’s a “put-contender-over-the-top” move; any two players going back in such a deal to Ottawa stand a risk at kneecapping a contender’s Cup run, and I don’t believe any contenders have high enough picks to tip the scales.

No more than they are already. They, especially Matt, have a long reputation lol. I like Matt more but they are both great players, Brady is a bit more lunkheaded.

It's kind of crazy how much stock people are putting into a 4 team, middle of the season tournament.

I mean, Brady and Arber have a "thing" already.
yeah Arber loves this shit and was already talking to the media yesterday about wanting to get in Brady's face, fight etc.
As many know, he has a history of being the villain vs Ottawa since obliterating Massicotte in that rookie camp a few years back.
should be fun tonight!
lol

Can they start targeting Brady’s face, so he is forced to wear a full cage? Please. It’s for the children.

Your question makes no sense. What did they do that was so bad that they haven't done before?
Btw, I personally find them very annoying in a Marchand way and like Marchand, they are actually pretty good players... And I hate that.
I don't think they did anything bad, but they did show everyone on a huge stage that their game is to challenge the other team physically and basically bully guys out there. I'm sure tough guys around the league will want to make a difference by stepping up to the challenge.

Although I doubt anyone in hockey weren't aware that that's how the Tkachuks play. Maybe now that there's a bit of a spotlight on them it will give a little bit of extra motivation.

This isn’t Brady of yesteryear. He’s reduced the tendency to accept fights that are poor trade offs for the team. I’m not worried about Xhekaj and Brady.

Xhekaj being seen as a villain was more about taking out Crookshank’s knee and having him injured for a whole season. He’s pretty well liked in the room in the AHL.

Massicotte was a camp invite, that wasn’t the crux of the issue.

I don't disagree. Arber was talking about how much he loved watching the fights and wished it was him and Florian repping Canada in that situation. Lol.
they're all gamers. You're right, It's not a good tradeoff for Brady to fight Arber

Habs fan OP, explains a lot, they passed on one of the Tkachuks for Kotkaniemi. Tkachuk’s live for that stuff, I think it’s a satire thread, you’d hope.
Fortunately Bergevin was fired, and that draft f***up was one of the reasons...
Drafting and then letting KK walk and then panic trading for Dvorak was just f***ing awful.

NHL isnt really like that anymore, maybe a fight or 2 will break out but I think everything will be forgotten and anything that happens will just be in the moment of the game
