I'm more in the group that believes defense wins championships. Obviously people to put the puck in the net are needed but a hard working team that is gritty and just always hounding the puck takes a lot out of other teams. No this is not a championship team but this is the best foundation we've ever had and no team ever leaves Columbus anymore thinking that was easy. A team like the Rangers decided to get more skill and while there are many variables including coaching style, etc, they are clearly missing the hardworking in your face guys they lost. It's a tough thing to balance, you need skill because you don't want to wear yourself out but at the same time in the playoffs you have to play that gritty style and can't fully rely on skill, garbage goals win those games more often then not
