Will Sens miss the playoffs?

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

I dont think Ottawa misses at this point. I'm starting to wonder if all these teams bunched together are getting gassed having to play playoff games essentially every night though.

Yes, comparing the past to the past.

No one has ever been worried about this version of the Sens. This is a non-playoff team who might make the playoffs and likely is a first round exit (hopefully by the Leafs) if they make it.

The Senators just lost to the last place team in the East tonight in the midst of a playoff race so it's hard to argue anyone is scared of them in a playoff series.
I mean, they beat the leafs ten days ago and every other time this year so...

There’s no point.

His argument will be that the Leafs beat the Sens on December 33rd, 2019.

He’s gotten exposed multiple times in this thread for not making any sense. I think he had one too many.

He’s also been angrily DMing me for the past 20 minutes but I keep ignoring them.

No one's DMing you. Put the bottle down.

That's because Ottawa couldn't make it.

They've been the preferred matchup of playoff teams because teams like Ottawa aren't an option most years.

Make the playoffs before you start claiming anyone is scared of the Sens.
I’m scared of the Sens

I hate tonight's loss, but the fact of the matter is if sens play like tonight every game for the rest of the season, they'll win more than lose. If you made this post after the avs loss which was a complete domination by the Avs, then it makes more sense.

Outside of the Habs (and even then they got embarrassed tonight), no other teams in the wc chase has been playing well with more flaws than the Sens.

Do yourself a favour and don't look at Ullmark's playoff stats. Completely night and day from his regular seasons.
I looked at Ullmark's playoff stats and did myself a favour by not becoming hysterical in either direction.

Do yourself a favour, man.

Agreed with the bolded, but that's more a reflection of the schedule than anything else. It wasnt a good game but it was enough to beat a mediocre team most nights. Luckily, most nights, that is all we will need to do.

I mean, it's a non-zero chance but five points (plus Ottawa has the Wins tiebreaker) is a big deficit at this point of the season -- and everyone else in the turtle derby is playing derpy too. You need one team to go on a tailspin and another to put it all together. Most of these teams are just sort of there and can't string together consistent efforts. That will play into Ottawa's hands.

People love a playoff race but tend to forget why these teams are on the bubble in the first place. They're not great. All of them have warts and the Sens are no exception.

Well yeah he can say other teams that are better than the Senators beat you in the playoffs - but that won't prove his point about the Sens being a dangerous matchup for anyone.
It is a dangerous matchup for the leafs, Sens dominated the leafs in the 3 games this year, also winning the series 3-0. Have won the last 4 games against them.

Funny thing Sens have more playoff series wins in the last 8 years than the leafs.

They have a pretty lax schedule, with 3 vs CBJ so if they do miss, they should just move the team at this point, along with Buffalo.

I'd laugh endlessly if they do miss but I have a strong feeling the NHL wants TOR vs OTT and FLA vs TB in 1st round.

Of all the realistic options, Sens surely would want to face Toronto in the first round. The opposite is also true given that the most likely non-Sens opponent for Toronto are Florida or Tampa. If the bickering over that is a preview of the Sens-Leafs series threat on the playoff board, it promises to be unreadable or an instant bookmark depending on how you like such things.

Don't think HF servers can handle that much traffic.

Leafs just lost worse to Nashville, a worse team than Buffalo, nice flex lol.
