If Wheeler is cooked and the price is cheap maybe in a reduced role but it's not worth getting into until the trade deadline at earliest.

He was a pretty to very good Ranger who everyone treated like a first ballot HOFer when he got traded for some reason.

If true, I either forgot for some reason, or just never heard of this before

It's very true, puck hit his head. He was in hospital hooked up in wires, at some point they were not sure he'd make it. But he fought his way back, now playing his best hockey ever. Strong story, I'd say this is part of the reason why so many Rangers fans love him.

But he has earned $50 million in this league, I doubt he feels underrated...

Nah... no thanks. I love Zucc and he'll always be a Ranger to me, but that doesn't mean it's smart to give him another contract.

He's been okay propped up heavily by being stapled to Kaprizov's hip. He has not been nearly as good as his point production would suggest. The two have good chemistry together, but as a player on his own merits, he's free falling.

He doesn't really generate or drive offense himself, outside of getting the puck to Kaprizov.
You talk like having chemistry with a star player is a negative. If you've found players that have chemistry with your stars, that's a good thing. Finding chemistry with star players is not a given. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Talk about a straw man

It's true, but not as extreme as it sounds, even though it was very serious. It wasn't like he was restarting from scratch. I don't remember the medical aspect of it exactly, but some came back naturally over time and some had to excel it a bit through some training if I'm not wrong.
