Don't know, but they should try, it could be a win win situation for Rangers, the other team and for Lundqvist.
Technically, wouldn't this be considered a Win-Win-Win???

He has a NMC and doesn't want to leave the Rangers even in the face of this rebuild. This is a non-question unless Lundqvist indicates he would even consider waiving it.
The Rangers are not going to trade him for the reasons already stated.
Nor do I think there would be much interest. Everyone's already got a goalie.

Not at over 8 million a year. Not to mention nobody is going to give up the pieces the Rangers would want for their franchise player.there could be a scenario where a goalie gets injured badly or if a team is looking for a good goalie in July.
I personally think that he will be traded by 2020. He wants to win a Cup that badly.

He'll be our franchise player until the day he hangs up his skates.Hes no longer a franchise goalie.
Hes a good goalie, but not a franchise guy right now.
Still, that said, hes not goi g anywhere
I do!Then He can hang out with Rod Gilbert and the other great non cup winners the Rangers wasted yet parade around every now and then to a bunch of monkeys who don’t really seem to know who they are.
Please don't tell the monkeys that.
Ahem...you are an ape, not a monkey.![]()
Nope. He has been the most popular player, but without a Cup, I hesitate to call him a franchise player. Sorry Hank lovers, but championships matter. Hank is the Patrick Ewing of the Rangers. He'll be our franchise player until the day he hangs up his skates.
