Will Kucherov get robbed of another Hart?

It’s more of a non-Canadian bias. Jagr has three Pearsons but only one Hart.

Yeah, bias is the only reason Kuchereov lost. It had nothing to do with being a complete tool at the ASG aside from the many legitiamate areeguements for MacKinnon being better like tilting the ice for his team when on the ice a lot more than Kucherov.

he led the closest scoring teammate by 54pts. So what? Why is that important? Mack was 84pts head of the #4 scoring on COL, Kucherov was only 68pts up on the #4 scorer on TBL.
If you can't understand why that's important I don't know what to tell you. The 2nd person in points is going to be someone that is spending most of their time playing with Kucherov with most of the play being the puck moving between them. It is usually going to be the 2nd best forward on the team. How often are goals scored with no assists? Kucherov was actually moved around to get other lines going a fair bit last year which is part of the reason why he was so far ahead of Brayden Point too. Just another reason to add to why he should have won the Hart.

Oh and let's continue on with your logic... Kucherov was 98 points ahead of the 6th place scorer on Tampa. Mackinnon was 90 points ahead of the 6th place scorer on Colorado.

You also didn't even address my point that Tampa was terrible defensively and had 0 business making the playoffs. Kucherov had the highest +/- of the forwards at +8. His main linemate Brayden Point was -16.

I mean I would've voted for Kucherov last year probably but it's not like he got robbed. One of the closest MVP races in a long time and lots of extremely deserving candidates, and it's the same this year. I think there's legitimately 5 guys who could win and I would have no complaints about at all

Just to show again, it wasnt even close last year. Points does nto automatically guarantee a Hart nor Lindsay.View attachment 1004594

IMO the writers wanting to give MackInnon one was a factor. They felt "bad" about 2018 and other years where he didn't win so it was his "turn."

Not to say he wasn't deserving or didn't earn it but given Kucherov had a historic season and was far and away his teams best player, the voting should've been much closer.

Kucherov has a HUGE advantage on MacKinnon because Kucherov got to sit out and rest during the Four Nations Tournament this season.

MacKinnon basically had to play a short, intense playoff series in the form of the Four Nations Tournament (which MacKinnon was MVP of) in the middle of this season, at a time when he was comfortably ahead of Kucherov in the points race. No wonder MacKinnon is gassed, and a well rested Kuch is passing him at the very end of the year.

Being a Russian is half of it. The other half is his unconventional attitude (see the ASG).
If he was a good old boy who played the right way he'd probably win it.

Instead he'll attend the awards ceremony and be made fun of again for talking like Borat.

The number of votes don’t actually show how close the people voting thought it was

That's not the point. All 137 voters who chose mackinnon could have been wrestling with making the decision. I agree it was clear edge mackinnon so I see why the votes looked like that, but kucherov was close it wasn't a no trainer
lol wut. Even the 2nd place voting was spread out 47-77-28-33, but the first was dominant. Basically everyone who voted for Kuch, had MacKinnon 2nd. But everyone who voted for Mac, had a spread of Kuch/McD/Matthews 2nd.

This was a very dominated voting in MacKinnons favor. Go back to 17-18 and you can see what close is.

Draisaitl is the only reason the Oilers can win a game right now. I can't see one good argument for Kucherov as being most valuable to his team this season. Mackinnon I could as I still think Colorado's support is still not great especially with Nishushkin missing so many games, but at least they have a goalie now.
If MacKinnon wins, this is why. Its not all points, which few here seem to grasp. COL has zero business being one of the best teams in the league this year, especially after Georgiev tried his best to destroy the season.

Kuch puts up a ton of points and I think he deserves votes.
Draisaitl is a joke because of McDavid, who is performing on par with his norm, actually ahead, but PP is down.
Helle, sure.
I personally think Eichel should get votes over a lot of guys.

It was only 4 games. You could also argue it kept Mackinnon in top form playing with the best players in the world. Mackinnon is known as a player that can play big minutes with ease.
In this case though I do agree it benefited Kucherov because he was battling an injury beforehand and the extra rest certainly helped him a lot.

Wow dang it's almost like Colorado's GM addressed the team's needs and their management doesn't suck total ass.

MEANWHILE IN EDMONTON...

I dont disagree there. COL beat them to the Blackwood trade, but no team with this much turnover should be successful, especially their best player losing their #2. Imagine EDM losing Draisaitl and bringing in Tage Thompson, for example or whatever worse player, and it works out. This was a radical move that was a gamble.

I don't think it's that much of a gamble. Successful orgs know what they're doing.

Dipshit orgs like the Oilers let valuable assets walk for free.

11 game winning goals and 6 OT winners thus far Carrying the Oilers without 97.

Best 5 on 5 corsi amongst the top 5 scorers,

52 goals in 70 games. No one is even close.

No empty net stat padding

Its Draisaitls to lose.
Deep dove so more. Please tell me more about his amazing ES game and try not to reference playing with McDavid nor getting weaker matchups when away from McDavid.

Makar didn't lose Toews

So why arent the other teams on that list doing well? The answer is MacKinnon and I'll accept Makar as a negative for Mackinnons case. Turnover is turnover and Rantanen is no joke to lose.

Nice to give Toews some credit for once here, but what is Rantanen?

He was their 3rd best player at the time of the trade.
It was more a comment on Makar being the Avs best player, than anything.
His #2 would be Toews.
Or you were implying that Rantanen was the 2nd best player on the Avs, which even if you have Mack ahead of Makar, there's no way you have Rantanen ahead of Makar too.

It's a weird list without complete context. Just glancing over the Avs stats and there's at least a handful of players that played 2 or less games.
