He had more points per game last year. He scored more points against top 10 teams. He had a larger gap between him and the second highest scoring player on his team. He plays in a tougher divison and conference. Yet Mack was selected because of the russia effect that Kucherov has nothing to do with. Kucherov is still out producing Mack playing tougher competition and will the comittee rob him again or owe him a Hart like they did for MACK?

So, you are obviously super biased, but you think he played or plays in a tougher division than Mack?

He lost to Mack last year because Mack was more deserving. You could have made arguments for both, but my vote would have gone to Mack and at a minimum, Kuch was certainly not robbed. Will wait to see what happens this year before commenting to much….several games left to go.

I had Kucherov #1 last year so was disappointed he didn't win.

I'm kind of leaning Draisaitl #1 right now though. Most goals, and with McDavid being out for injuries at times, and also simply not having a great season for him, he stands out more.

I do think MacKinnon is very unlikely to win. I think voter fatigue is a legitimate dynamic - and i think the bar to win a 2nd straight hart in such a close race should be higher. He was a fine and deserving winner last year even though I had him #2 - but for him to win again he'd need to have a gap at the top, and right now he doesn't.

Still unsure how high Helle will rank either. Some people think he's the favorite, I'm a bit unsure.

My prediction is it ends:

1. Drai
2. Kuch
3. Helle
4. MacK

I had Kuch ever so slightly as #1 last year. This year is much less clear cut. Any of Kuch, MacK, Drai, or Helly I think are good choices unless someone completely goes off in the last 7-8 games to create separation.

If there is another player with as many "he's not appreciated enough" threads on the main boards, then I'll be impressed.

What is it about you Kucherov fans? Not enough hugs when you were kids????
TBF i wasn't hugged much as a kid.

This ain't it though. Don't think he wins the Hart this year. Drai and Helly are my top 2.

He clears MacK by a mile this year though. The one getting consideration from the Avs should be Makar.

I disagree with the premise. Kucherov was not robbed last season, but MacKinnon's win wasn't clear cut either. It was a very tight race and I would have been fine with either one winning.

Haven't seen much Tampa games this season so no idea who is better now. However, Mack is clearly not as dominant this season. For me Makar is the Avs MVP.

Kucherov is still out producing Mack playing tougher competition
I think you really need to elaborate on this as Mack plays in a division with 2 of the top 3 teams in the league...COL is 7th overall in the league right now, but only 3rd in their division.

Just to show again, it wasnt even close last year. Points does nto automatically guarantee a Hart nor Lindsay.

Kucherov fans can think what they want but the right guy won it last season. I don't even think Kucherov should be top 3 this season in my opinion, it should be Draisaitl, Hellebuyck, and Mackinnon. I would put Kucherov as number 4, but since it is tough for a goalie will be nominated, Kucherov could be 3rd. Last year I had him at number 2.

11 game winning goals and 6 OT winners thus far Carrying the Oilers without 97.

Best 5 on 5 corsi amongst the top 5 scorers,

52 goals in 70 games. No one is even close.

No empty net stat padding

Its Draisaitls to lose.
GWG means nothing. Show me timing on those goals.
OTG carry even less value in the gimmick 3v3
Writers dont look up corsi when voting.
Goals are what the Rocket is for.
Empty net padding can be argued in both directions.
The McDavid factor is real. Drais is out with McDavid 50% of the time or gets the weaker matchups without him.

As of 3.14 NHL.com (actual voters) had MacKinnon winning. They did in 2024 at the same time. Since then, a lot has changed and can argue Helle or Kuch, but still Draisaitl is still 4th.
