Will Kopitar get his second point-per-game season at 37?

Who the f*** is Trevor Moore?
So for the majority of his career he has been a top defender and dominant player who also scored. Now that his defense is not as good, they are letting his play closer to his full offensive ability. That's my take on it.

Keep in mind that he typically has a less than stellar month every winter, so it's likely to see his point totals firmly in the 70s as usual.

It's also just a higher scoring league right now. Kopitar would most likely be scoring over a point per game rate most years in his prime if the game was played the way it is now.

Has nothing in o do with this. Kings style for nearly his whole career has been puck control. It was the coaching staffs Lombardi brought in.

Right, Anze Kopitar's the only player in the entire NHL who was unaffected by the absolutely massive scoring increase. I bet if he was right-handed he would have an extra 20 points like every other scorer in the league.
Great to see someone see this also, i wrote in another thread if there are any other player withat least 1000 points that have that kind of stats.
Actually it would have been kind of nice, if hed had none ppg, with his incredible career.
I think he will end this season sligthly under ppg 77 in 81

Kempe and Kopitar are running mad on-ice PDO, so their pace likely isn't sustainable.
Would be cool for Kopi, though. I hate the Kings but really like both players.

Either way, I remember a Kings fan posting in the offseason how they can't compete "with the corpses of Kopitar and Doughty taking up so much cap space". Bad take, though I guess we'll see how Doughty plays after his injury. Kings have rebuilt pretty well.

Its impressive, no doubt. But a major part of that is the scoring environment. Prime Kopitar probably flirts with 100 points in this league.
They haven’t rebuilt at all.
It’s simply another kick at the can with (mostly) the same pieces In place, it’s just Hiller being much better this season with time to make his touches to the roster.
It won’t last, but they are playing good this season, and it is admittedly better than most of us expected. Looking forward to losing to the oilers in 5 games this spring to cap it all off.

They just smothered the Devils. Kuemper seems to be having a solid bounce-back. You need Byfield to take the next step, and odds are he will. Turcotte unfortunately probably won't....until maybe he is like 1 year away from UFA and then demands a gigantic raise.
Turcotte honestly has been one of the better kings forwards consistently. He makes every line he is on better.
Just gotta wrap the kid in bubble wrap so he quits getting hurt.
