AHL: Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins 24 25 the Players Sully Hates

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

He's staying in WBS to do exactly what we just saw tonight. As a multi-year pro, he's setting the tone and example on a nightly basis for the first-year AHL players like McGroarty and Koivunen. That group's collective development is more important right now.
This is kind of nonsensical to me. You can have any one of the many AHL vets set the tone for the young kids.

I agree with the opinion that it would make more sense to have Poulin finish the year with the big club just to see if there’s any chance there’s an NHL player there. I don’t personally think there is, but the entire world already knows that Emil Bemstrom sucks at the NHL level. No further data needed there.

I suppose there is nothing more inspirational than young guys learning from a former first round pick of the organization continue his career in the minors after getting a whopping 12 NHL games, the vast majority of those getting about 5 mins playing with absolute plugs.

Pietila’s in the lineup today.

Knyzhov was traded to Grand Rapids. Probably didn’t need to happen but we’ve gotten healthy again plus adding Pietila and maybe others, probably more a favor to Knyzhov.

Murashov has now given up three or more goals in four of his last five WB games. I like him a lot, but he's gotta clamp down a bit.

3-3 in the 3rd.

I think I’d trade Neds since I think he’s worth a 3rd or so and go with Jarry and you can just kinda platoon through the other 3. Larsson probably doesn’t have a ton of value with no NHL experience- he even cleared waivers earlier in the year with no takers.

Larsson’s looked at least well enough to take a backup spot. And if he doesn’t and sucks at least we’re not ruining a young guy.

Thought Ned was a UFA after this season for some reason. Yeah, I dunno. Whatever you gotta do in order to run a Murashov/Blomqvist combo in WBS. I don't think any of the goalies worth trading have any value tbh, be it Jarry (contract+performance), Ned (whatever backup), or Larsson (no real NHL experience).

Only had a vague impression of Pietila but he didn’t look out of place. The few times he had the puck he was.. I guess I’d use the word decisive.

McDonald said he still needs to move the puck at a quicker, professional pace. I noticed that too, but he looked really steady defensively nonetheless…
