AHL: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins: '24-'25 The Players Sully Hates

Ponomarev two goals and Koivunen with a goal so far tonight. I think it's time for both of these two players to get the call up to the NHL. Waive Nieto. Do something Kyle.
Do we really want that though? Maybe Pono because he has a lot of AHL experience already, but I think it’s good for them to marinate on a team that has a top 4 winning % in the AHL.

I don’t see why Bemstrom can’t get another look though. Over a ppg.

Koivunen leading all rookies in scoring. Bemstrom is 2nd overall with 41 pts in 44 games.

Dubas has to be working the phones at this point. Petts brings a good return. Rakell can be moved for the right offer. Dubas has to maximize that move. If a rebuild is now the view, Rust, Karlsson moved probably in the off season makes sense. But for cap and scoring purposes, Rakell gives the Pens a high end forward. then the players that need to be up can get the NHL time to get experience and see what they need to work on in the off season. Mostly strength and maturing physically as they continue to grow.

I still don’t want these guys up with the big club and near this dumpster fire. Esp with the 4 nations break approaching. Just keep em down until the TDL, no need to break their momentum right now IMO.

Give them a taste after the deadline and Sully has lost a couple guys and has to give them some real ice time. Then back down and hopefully a deep run for Wilkes Barre.

Kral is noticeable in all the highlights. Might be worth a call-up too, even if just as a reward to him.

The scouting report on him was bad foot speed but he came out of nowhere on his goal.
I didnt see bad foot speed at all. IMO he was the best skater on team. I think he could slot in if/when Gryz is moved. Very similar in size and skillset.

6'2" 200#, can skate despite what some reports say, decent stick work, and can play both sides. I'd bring him up for a game or two if possible. And I'd definitely be re-signing him for next season.
