This is why I hate the fact the Pens keep adding these dime a dozen 4th line veterans and create a log jam for spots on the big club when you could simply play some of these youngsters (like Gruden) in that exact same role.

Nieto, Acciari, and even Lizotte are unnecessary additions when you've got enough youngsters who you can slot into those roles, but instead there's never a spot for them on the big club other than when injuries hit because the Pens have accumulated way too many bottom line crap.

I haven't hated Lizotte but he is a little redundant given we seem hell bent on playing Acciari and Hayes. We just have a very poorly constructed roster.

6 in 7 now I believe.

Missed both games with having to drive down to Seattle for some business fun. Damn it, Rutger looked like he had a good game. I wonder if there's a replay of the game on my box for it.

I haven't watched any WBS games but Broz certainly looks sharp in all these highlight reels I keep seein lol. It'd be sick if he turned into something for us.
Yea I've long thought nothing of Broz but its great to see him thriving.

He looks like he will almost certainly make the NHL at this point, which nobody here really thought a year ago.

Broz is a guy that keeps surpassing my expectations, so I'm really curious if he ends up better than the "3C or complementary middle-6 winger" upside I have him pegged at. If he could somehow be a viable 2C or better at the NHL level, that would be an absolutely awesome addition. The dude is obviously super skilled.

It's nice to see WBS getting such high levels of production from their young guys. Koivunen (4 goals and 14 points in 16 games), Broz (7 goals and 12 points in 16 games) and Poulin (4 goals and 11 points in 13 games) are in their top-5 in scoring and are all 23 or younger. It's a drastic step up from last year, where Ty Smith was their leading scorer with 43 points in 63 games and Poulin was the only young guy at the top of the scoring list by the end of the year.

anyone have any info on Cruz Lucius? He doesn't seem to have played any games yet this season after transferring to Arizona State. There doesn't seem to be any info about why he's not playing, and there's nothing on the current season stat sheet even.

Edit: it appears he's injured

The Sun Devils have been plagued with injuries to begin the season, with forwards on their top three lines missing a large chunk of the season. One of the most anticipated prospects heading into the season, junior forward Cruz Lucius has yet to make his season debut for ASU but is expected to play next weekend against Minnesota Duluth.
