Leonard looks to have everything you need for a NHL'er. Moore has the speed, but that's about it. Buium was better yesterday against a very tough, physical opponent. I have doubts about his size, speed, and defensive play, as far as the NHL is concerned. i think he will need another year of non NHL play, whether it is in college, or the AHL....kind of hoping for college, considering the D numbers in Iowa. Hutson is obviously great at this level offensively, but his defense is mediocre at best, and he is a smallish guy.

For all that Canada screwed up, you'd have to be an idiot to not recognize that they had the territorial advantage, and outshot the US by a significant amount, even with all the penalties against. they just played stupid, and individually, while team USA played like a team, for the most part.
Don't know what that delay of game was about at the end, does anyone?

Catton is a wonderful player, as is Mckenna, who has to be the favorite to be #1 oa in 2026.
If you read through the Team USA thread during the Canada game, they were pointing out how outrageous the shot count was. Sounds like it wasn't even close to what it showed in the end.

I was watching. Thought it was fairly accurate. Team USA did a good job of hindering shots, and limiting rebounds, but Augustine also has some really nice saves, as well as some lucky ones. USA was more clinical offensively, and their passing plays, and shots were better. Perreault was an exception in that regard, but Leonard was playing his ass off, as was Nelson. Hagens and Eiserman looked good, too.

Maybe they were joking but one said that the US had 4 shots on a power play, and they gave 3 of them to Canada.

Buium doesn't look as fluid as I was expecting and he seems to be reactive and unaware. I was expecting a Faber/Brodin calmness.

Edit: He scores after starting a rush in his end immediately after posting this.

Dunno if this'll show up the way it's supposed to, but let's try it:

[EDIT]: Nnnnope.

Can't link directly to Zeev's goal video, but it's here on the page:

Kumpulainen scores another against Slovakia, or his first if you believe the box score over your eyes.

Kiviharju gets an assist on the first one.

Day 7

Zeev 1+1
Kumpulainen 1 goal
Kivi 1 assist

Total:
Kivi 0+3
Kump 1+1
Zeev 2+2

Kumpulainen scored 2 today, the stat guys must have missed his tip on the first one. Remains to be seen if they fix it.

Or at least it looks like a pretty conclusive to me, he's literally pointing at the black mark on his stick.
