Well, let’s be clear. It’s great when it works and it’s the “wrong time” when it doesn’t.

I mean, that one was a great example where the shooter had a book on him and made him look like a fool. Goalies who throw poke checks at every other breakaway can count on skaters shooting as soon as they start the poke check motion.
