Why Wasn't Mike Bossy Drafted Higher?

The Habs were well aware of Bossy. The story is that Claude Ruel told Sam Pollock that Bossy was the first player to "bring me out of my seat since Lafleur." However, Pollock decided to draft Mark Napier.

To be fair though Napier scored extremely well in the WHA as a 19 year old and had an outstanding resume in the OHL which was held in higher regard than the Q at the time.

The fact was that guys in the Q were always questionable if they would turn out or not and drafting back then wasn't as good as it is today either.
