Why do the Flyers play so many day games?

They have to lead the league in this category every year for the past several years. Seems like they have a 1:00 game almost every week or every other.

Not really a fan of day games if it's my team involved. Is there a reason why they play so many day games?

I’ve noticed this too, it’s absolutely insane how many games they play in the afternoon.

Without looking I’d say it’s over 3 times the league average.

"European game of the week" wasn't a thing last year yet the Flyers seemed to have a matinee game every weekend. I've been wondering what's the deal with this too.

Dont know how many hockey fans watch basketball, but i guess there would be plenty of neutral fans who would make a choice between the 2.

Yeah, the 76ers play tonight in Philly. There is your answer for probably 90% of the Flyers day games. The building hosts 2 games in a few hours.

It’s not. This is not new. It’s been going on for a few seasons now. They play a lot of matinee games on Saturday.

They play 19 games before 3 pm eastern time this season.

It's a metro thing. NYR, NYI, NJD, PHI are all super in close proximity and play a lot of day games -especially Sunday- against each other.

Philly and Toronto are the opposite extremes. I guess some teams just get to dictate when they play.
