Why are the Predators in the Western Conference?

Right so maybe we would split the difference at 630? As it currently stands we’re already in an odd spot. They still put up with it part of the year when playing us just like we get to put up with the frequent west coast start times more frequently than they do.
Between MLB, NHL and NBA there are only 2 teams I can think of that tend to start their home weeknight games before 7:00 and they're both MLB (Rockies, Reds). It's my assumption that the leagues don't like starting before that 7pm time slot for some reason. If that's the case, 6:30 starts would probably be a tough sell.

Expansion in Seattle in the Pacific, relocate Ottawa to Houston in the Central, move Columbus to Atlantic, put Nashville in the Metropolitan division.

Have we had any discussion of who comes to the central when Seattle joins the Pacific?

It almost has to be Arizona. I feel certain the league wouldnt split the Alberta teams.

Other possibility is Colorado goes to the Pacific and both Edmonton and Calgary to the central

Well no matter where your team lands or others you will still have an awesome team for years to come...

Hopefully we see each other again in the playoffs this season...

Best of Luck Preds Fans...

Cheers

When did the Reds change? They used to have a 7:05 or a 7:10 start time when I lived in Cincinnati to allow people to drive down from Dayton. Some games had 1/3 of the crowd driving down I-75 to Cincinnati, but they were probably on the weekend. Back in 1980, a game lasted about 2:15 or 2:30, making it over around 9:30 - 9:45. Just in time to edit and show the highlights on the 11 PM news. Most TV stations didn't have 10 PM news in Dayton or Cincinnati at that time, unless they were independent stations with news.

I was at the Brewers game on Tuesday night. It started at 6:40, as did all three games against the Reds from Monday to Wednesday. I think the team wants the fans to arrive in the daytime and maybe while they are still hungry, so they can sell more food!

The Nashville Predators are in the Western Conference because there are 16 teams located east of them, including the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets. Also, unlike those two teams, they are located in the Central Time Zone. That pretty much is the reason why they are in the Western Division.

Incidentally, Columbus could theoretically be considered the middle of the NHL, as the geographical "center" of the league is just east and just south of the midpoint of the league.
