Idk what you expect a third coach to do under this same core. You think you need to tell Crosby, McDavid, Draisaitl to "play harder"?

I am not the biggest fan of Keefe, but at this point, it's a personnel problem. For years, they clearly don't want to win as much as the fanbase does. Mitch was the good candidate to trade, but now we can't do that. You're not getting a good return on a Nylander rental trade.

Destination: f***ed tbh.

Berube for the accountability
Quenneville for the pedigree (unlikely due to the baggage)

Sutter would be the funniest cause the rats would jump ship and I'd be in it for the memes
if your having trouble getting overpaid player to waive their NMC’s Sutter would be ideal………..

People say we have such an amazing talented team, but how come they never won a division title? Except for that one joke North Division one in 2021. This team is not better than the early 2000s teams.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard…….

Wait...I think you missed a couple:

Mike Keenan
Dallas Eakins
Ralph Krueger
Hey...maybe Corey Perry can come in as a player/coach!

A lot of great options out there. If he's canned mid-season it's Boucher taking over and if it's off-season after the Leafs have yet another early playoff exit it'll be someone higher profile for the long-term.

I’d lean towards Craig Berube. Attitude adjustment is what this squad needs. With the pending UFA of Nylander and then Marner that might be a little risky however. For these guys to grow as a team they need to escape their comfort zone however. The shit they’ve been doing isn’t working.

I like the idea of Berube too. Usually a tough guy, is a tough coach, and it will be somewhat of his-way-or-the-highway. We had that in Babcock, and the players won that battle. But I don't think (hope) that management wouldn't let that happen again, and they would realize a shakeup of the core, all these years later, is finally necessary. (Keep Matthews at all costs)

Unpopular pick - Coach Q - he certainly has the coaching pedigree, and I'm sure the league made him do some courses/training etc. He would be my first pick.

It's always crazy how much complaining there is about the players and the roster... and then another thread about the coach.

I'd think if the players and the roster are so bad, that the coach is not at fault.

Leafs always have 30 things wrong with them and I always wonder how we aren't in last place.

If you go down the speculation route, the guy I've been intrigued by for a while has been Larionov, who's currently the coach of Torpedo in KHL.

I know there's a relationship with Shanahan, but typically the president doesn't select the coach.

Berube is a real solid option. Think his style would go well with Treliving’s ideal style as well.

I like Berube as well. He took the fall for Armstrong's inability to maintain a competitive roster. Tough coach but seems to be a motivator vs a guy who alienates his young guys.

This team has the most skilled individuals I have seen on any leafs team at one time, however they are imo missing the "dog" and the ' its us against them attitude' it takes to go far in the playoffs and for me to really be on board. Players like Clarke or Gilmour left it all out on the ice and the fans appreciate that sort of commitment, win or lose. It was easy to cheer for those guys.
