I’m sorry I don’t follow your math. How is 1 and 2 a wash? How is 2 and 3 a wash? One seems to be lower and the other higher.Ok cool go argue with someone else then. I have no bone in this fight just giving my opinion. My opinion on playoff performance can be backed by numbers tho so not sure why you chose to ignore that part of my argument ?
Lol ok forgive me let me try again

Yea its like player A finishing with 55 goals while player B finishes with 53 goals. Essentially a wash when we're trying to discuss who is the better playerI’m sorry I don’t follow your math. How is 1 and 2 a wash? How is 2 and 3 a wash? One seems to be lower and the other higher.
I don’t know if I agree with your logic. If mcdavid wins the Ross by 2 points I don’t care how many goals or points the other guy got because Mcdavid won. The rest becomes a footmark to either be forgotten in history.Yea its like player A finishing with 55 goals while player B finishes with 53 goals. For objective awards like art ross for sure, nobody remembers 2nd place. But we are talking about who is the best here, this debate can't be won simply because one had a higher number than the other.I don’t know if I agree with your logic. To follow your example the player with 55 points won and no one will remember how close it is.
I also don’t see where you get Shest number 2 for this season. He has half the shut outs and all his other stats are lower and there are quite a few goalies in between.
I could see the argument Helly is better in regular season and Shest in playoffs. Then if Helly leads his team deep or shesty puts up big regular seasons that may change in the future.
If you go by the website link you sent me it shows Helly with a fairly wide margin this season and a few players between the 2 and it looks like Logan Thompson and Dostal have a better case for 2nd this year then Shesty. Dostal is also doing it on a worse team. For objective awards like art ross for sure, nobody remembers 2nd place. So a player who had 55 goals vs 53 goals is a wash in this sense. It's way too close to determine who is the best "goal scorer" simply off that metric alone. You'd have to go deeper
For context, that poster I was responding to was using advanced analytics statsheet as a suggestion to say Helle is clearly better. I was talking his language and debating his logic. And that list was just regular season. If you look at that same list for playoffs, it heavily favours Shesty by a long shot
