I’ll echo what others have said and say Mothman for now but can see Gabe taking the spot as soon as next January.

If Othmann can actually be developed into a Canadian Tkachuk-lite player without the org telling him to cool it then I might value that whole package over our new shiny toy. I think we have the staff to encourage that in him, but the team needs to be ready to go to war with him. I remember a few times in Laffy’s rookie year where he was being a pest and trying to get something going and teams were triple teaming him after the whistle. Specifically I remember him driving to the net one game against Jersey and making contact with the Goalie. Three players mugged him while he was on the ice and pre contract/COVID era Mika just looked at him and skated away. Really rubbed me the wrong way. Laffy doesn’t seem to even bother with that stuff anymore and I’m worried the same will happen to Othmann.

Either way, they are both exciting players to follow. They absolutely both have to be put in the best possible situations to develop and succeed. This org can’t afford to squander any more high picks.

I don't think he gets talked about enough.

He will be a part of the core imo

Man, you guys don't comprehend Perreault's upside. He has the potential to be a perennial all star. Othmann probably will top out as a 2nd line forward. Nothing wrong with that, but Perreault is head and shoulders the better prospect.

Haven’t seen anyone consider him any more than a good secondary scorer with bite. He’s gotten a ton of hate from the usual suspects (not you.)

Maybe I’m missing the massive hype for him?


Meanwhile we lived through the Krav shit and there were some people who thought Nils made Fox expendable lol.
